AUM/LOOPY/AUDIOBUS: Monitoring?

Is anyone having any issues with monitoring (REDUNDANT)when using this combo of apps AND AN INTERFACE?

I am having this odd issue where I can get the audio signal with NO FX in AUM directly into Loopy if I have Loopy Monitoring off. But, I can't get the audio signal from the mixer signal path that includes the FX into Loopy.

When I turn monitoring on, I get a redundant incoming audio signal via AUM/interface into Loopy.

I can't tell if this is an AUM setting, LOOPY config issue I have created, or IOS hiccup when getting into AUM/AUDIOBUS/LOOPY and an incoming audio signal with multi channels.

I doubt you anyone will understand this...but ...if you do....that would be awesome for suggestions! LOL

  • Gotta post screenshots of AUM and Audiobus so we can see your routing.

One part that is unclear is your FX. Are you using an FX chain in AUM? And you want to send that to Loopy?

I've never had any sort of issue doing my monitoring from AUM with a Loopy setup. I always use AUM for the monitoring in a setup like this and have Monitoring turned off in Loopy.

Like Hmtx said, if you post screenshots of your setup, it would be easier to spot what the issue might be.

  • Where does AB come into this description of your setup?

If you are trying to output AUM directly to Loopy, that doesn’t work. Loopy would just use the mic input, or interface input. That is why you only hear the dry sound.

You need to use AB to feed apps into Loopy. Put AUM in the AB input and Loopy in the AB output. Bring Loopy back into AB on a separate track to monitor Loopy.

The best way is to monitor in AUM with Loopy monitoring disabled, using busses to avoid any added monitoring latency thought apps:

Put any FX before channel bus send. This is also what I do with AUM and GTL (minus AB).

    Here is basic AB preset:

    Hope this helps.

  • @janosax’s method works well if you can’t live without AUM.
