If you have to recommend me a midi controller.
What it would be based on your experience?
I don't want midi keys... I have arturia minilab. What I need is probably something to work with clips (when drambo implements it) and faders. Only for midi control exclusively. The price range if it's possible on the low-medium scale. Something that will feel good and you have or tried and like it.
Most important thing is that I don't have a computer at the moment. Just the ipad. Has to be fully compatible from the get go. No needed PC or mac to configure.
I have no rush either. 🙂

Could always use an iPhone / another iPad and Lemur. Connect over bluetooth with midimittr. That's what I do.
I appreciate but I need a physical controller. Faders that I can touch. My hands get very sweety and dirty and I hate to touch screens and have to swipe them all the time.

Anyone has the novation launch control xl? Is it worth it?
Im going to get a Novation Launch control XL. I love the build quality of the Circuit and Novation stuff works well with ios
I have the Arturia Minilab Mk2. How come that's not doing it for you? Is it missing faders for you? Certainly has a lot of controls to use.

I've been eyeing the Launch Control XL as well.
But considering I'll be using it with Drambo mostly, currently I'm navigating more towards a compact DJ-style controller like the Hercules Starlight.
8 pads, a nice crossfader, 2 additional large vertical faders, touchable scrub wheels that could scratch two Flexi Samplers, a few knobs for further synth or FX control, transport buttons... to me that sounds like a deal if it's going to be supported.
Another vote for Launchcontrol XL. I hope Novation release an mk3 version with rgb pads and something unexpected.
The Launch control XL is very good but I'd say the build quality is good but not excellent, one of my sliders failed after a couple of years and now send out random midi. Probably just unlucky though. I would like an updated model with endless rotaries.
One thing worth bearing in mind - I really appreciate Arturia's MIDI CONTROL software with which I was able to program my Minilab really easily. What's Novation's programming software like?

I'd say you were unlucky with your slider issue.
I own 2 LC XLs myself and I personally think the build quality is excellent and amongst the best of my hardware. Those knobs are sturdy and feel great.
@Vlad11 You would need to configure the LC XL via computer though.

Although you'd also need to configure via computer, the new Launchpads would probably most suit your desire to launch clips. Plus You can configure a number of custom pages with various MIDI widgets. If your budget can stretch to the Pro, you can control the MIDI channel from the device itself.
Another device to consider is the Samson Conspiracy, which you can configure on the device itself. A few caveats are that I believe it needs to be powered to work with iPads. It is a mini usb connection and the XY pad on my unit is a bit touchy. Values change when lifting off finger.
I got mine relatively cheap 2nd hand, and one thing I really like about the Conspiracy is the pads. Really playable. Sends aftertouch too. Not sure if this will launch clips when Drambo gets that. Depends how it's integrated I guess.
Anyway, just something to consider.
I have it, it's my main controller for playing live AUM sessions. I use the lower 16 pads as channel mutes, the 8 faders as drambo cross-faders and the top knobs colour-coded for various synth controls.
Someone here mentioned their fader breaking, I have a friend with a similar story (though he used his heavily, lots of carrying to and from gigs in smoky clubs).
Get Launchpad X.. With Korg Nano Studio Control
I get one also cheap but I still didn't put the time to configure it with anything... another extra point for Novations... with their apps no need to dabbling, just make music!
Ok. I just ordered my LC XL this morning.
I know that without a macOs system I won't be able to configure it easily but I saw on this forum that MIDIsynth app allow to do that. Right?
Besides if not possible I can always configure myself manually on AUM (and hopefully in drambo too on the next update).
@jameslondon74 minilab is great but I needed something more suitable to launch clips/scenes and faders. I will use them both at the same time.
Just keep in mind that some clip controllers won’t give you any info of the clip status ,just like the 8 pads of the minilab .
I’d look for launchpad app from Ampify plus a cheap launchpad for clip launching
I got mine from Sam Ash in the US last year for $60. I don’t use it much but it does have a low power mode for the iPad. Also is configurable without a computer.
Yeah I got mine for around the same £s. The configurable via device feature is the main reason I mentioned it for sure.
