Much needed GUITAR solution needed?
Ok
I need an interface that has hi-z in and hi-z out for iOS
I want to integrate the iPad mid REAL pedalboard and have found nothing for this?
So what is a great low latency, clean signal, interface that can be integrated with real amps and pedals.
BONUS LEVEL: if the interface is metal and pedal form it would absolutely be AWESOME!
Remember I don’t need to guitar into iPad and that’s it (this is all I can find out there)
Even the new Mackie Onyx black box Doesn’t do the trick anymore because they eradicated the damn hi z out?
ATTENTION GUITAR PEDAL COMPANIES! This device is much needed and will probably do well if demo’ed to iOS and android people who actually use analog guitar stuff and want say...miRack in the middle of it...it’s a big problem

Seems that ik multimedia AXE I/O may do the job, just in case others need this feature
You don't want guitar into iPad but you want to integrate iPad into your pedalboard? Could you give us a bit more detail about what you want?
I could have sworn there was a guitar pedal with USB jacks that you could just stick into your regular pedalboard - this pedal could be connected to an iPad to run whatever FX you want. Has some kind of mix control between dry signal and iPad-processed signal. Looking into it....

The NSP pedal in this article might be the one. Unfortunately Chrome flags the New Signal Process website as a security risk

Let’s say I am going from guitar—->to roland ds1 pedal ——->IPAD——>chorus pedal——->amp
There are very few if almost no pedals to do this simple thing
Essentially to use Drambo as a pedal in the middle of the chain
so far that ik axe is the only thing I am seeing that can fit in
I would basically be using iPad running AUM as a pedal itself between other pedals
Sounds easy until you actually try to find something that can do this.
I have found one so far
FYI - the IK Multimedia AXE only works on pc/mac, its not a usb complaint audio interface.
trust me i bought one (works great on mac) and i'll be selling it. the IK multimedia iRig pro duo works fine tho, and is small enough to put on your pedal board (again, thats what i'm doing).
buy a stereo bypass pedal - something like https://www.loop-master.com/looper-stereo-p-97.html - and plug your interface (like the irig duo) into that, you can then bypass the ipad effect when needed.
Just to clarify i did try the AXE on a ipad - it recognized it and input channels worked but output did not. I posted this on the IK forum and they replied with "its not a usb compliant interface". (i replied with "why would anyone make a USB interface not USB compliant in this day and age" but that post was deleted - but they certainly did not lie in their marketing)
I’ve been thinking about a similar thing so I can shift my guitar processing to a second device. Like the look of the Omec teleport.
Also the TC Helicon Go Guitar Pro looks like it does what you want, this pic from manual.
Xtone might be a possibilty. This guy is running his guitar into Xtone, then Xtone output into another pedal - in his case a delay pedal.

Xsonic xtone looks really good. Any feedback from forum members? YouTube videos seem too formal reviews. It’s also on sale now and $169 for the regular version
I get by with a lil help from my friends!
Now I have options!!!
Thank you all so much!
Irig hd2 will do what you want, it has a hi-z in and out as well as a headphone jack. And it’s $99.
Are you saying if you plug the unit via USB into a CCK into an iPad it won't work? I was under the impression any class compliant device would work this way, and nearly everything is class compliant these days. I'm using an old M-Audio Fasttrack about 10 years old and it works fine this way.
...
You can turn any (low-z) line out into hi-z by simply applying a regular guitar DI box (guitar to mic console input) reversed, so the DI's guitar input gets connected to the amp's input.
If the DI does not have an unbalaned output, bridge XLR cold to ground (or use a plug/cable XLR to TR jack). Quality units start at about $30.
I've had the Xtone for a couple of months and it's worked exactly as those YouTube videos suggest. Excellent fidelity, undetectable latency, plug-and-play with iOS and Mac. Midi commands are easy to set, too. I tried it a couple of times in band rehearsals before COVID shut that down but I could already see the Xtone and iPad replacing regulars amps and pedals. I'll try to answer questions if you have any.
I have xtomp mini and Digitech istomp. These are great fx pedals for their price. I have a little practice board with 3 pedal: Keeley DDR, Xtomp and loop pedal.
the AXE I/O is not class compliant, it needs a driver on mac/pc.
How odd. I wonder if that's due to some of it's more advanced features. Seems a shame as it looks like a really nice unit.
Just out of curiosity, why is hi-z so important?
