Distortion mayhem: AudioDamage Grind vs Eventide Crushbox

What‘s your weapon of choice? Looking for an industrial type distortion mayhem mainly used for monophonic synth lines and maybe some drum grit.

Comments

  • Both are awesome // Bit Maestro is bad ass as well

  • I didn't gel with Grind for some reason. Crushstation is just beautiful, extremely versatile, but to top it all Bit Maestro followed by Crushstation. I thought it would be going to far, but no, the analogish saturation of Crushstation is like an old barrel aging the firewater of Bit Maestro's digital mangling. Which doesn't make much sense as an analogy but anyway. The pair of them, wonderful.

  • I prefer Eventide on this. Bit Maestro is also great. PSA1000 is really nice for drum grit as well

  • Eventide all the way. Audio Damage AU apps seem to have issues with stability unfortunately.

  • I noticed DJ Puzzle was using WaveFolder in a recent video.

  • I’ve only used Grind and I love it.

  • I find that Lo-Fly Dirt is very good for adding a bit of grit to the drums and synth.

  • I find Shaper far better than Grind.

  • If you don’t have SHAPER you need help.

  • I cannot get anything musical out of Grind but CrushStation seems to work for me.

  • From this collection I love Waveshaper and Shaper most. Grind has a few presets that are superb, and there are things to like in all of these.
