Bass Drop, Song done in Auria
Song done in Auria using AudioBus and IAA
Comments
Sick, the beat reminded me of Computer Love with a heavier drop. That synth is wild, love the whipping sound. I like this.
Sounds good. And yeah, that synth is awesome. What did you use? Can you tell us a bit about how you made this?
The drums was done in beatmaker 2, I imported my own samples into it.
For the synth parts I use Alchemy , Thor and IMini. Some the parts was done using IAA and some via AudioBus.
I then use Auria plugins for all the effects.
I am working on one right no, but I am using GarageBand would post soon
Awesome. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to hearing your next song.
Nice production
Nice I've got a bass dropper on the go too, but keep getting distracted. I'll finish and crash your bass drop party if that's ok!
That's sick! Nice work. Love how the beat drops in and out too - good example of less being more.
\m/
Great.
Did you play the synths all the way through or come up with parts and edit/loop?
Cool! Very far from what I normally listen to, but very cool.
@syrupcore i didn't play the synth all way through, it was a long process of adding parts and editing loops. Luckily Auria is very powerful when doing this sort of editing.
@skoptic looking forward to hear your production.
OK - here is a work in progress. Some bits definitely need to be sorted, but it's coming along. All started life in Cubasis... then finished in Auria. 100% iOS - various synths and fx.
I think it might class as anti-minimalist (compared to OP) !
@djjuniorpops and @skoptic
Just discovered this post and wanted to say that I love both your tracks posted here. Have been listening repeatedly on SoundCloud!
Really great sounding bass music.
Would love to know any details about which synth apps you used (@skoptic) and how you achieved all the modulation and fx.
Love grooves that are in the pocket so I'm liking these two tracks.
Thanks for bumping Matt.
Nice synth/etc @djjuniorpops. Keep waiting for Prince to wind his falsetto up.
@skoptic this is altogether more urban; anime that my kid certainly wouldn't be allowed to watch Did you take it any further?
Hey guys - thanks for comments. Yeah I like filth and busy
Writing music these days with a 2 1/2 year old daughter and an 8 1/2 month pregnant wife is pretty tricky - so everything happens in tiny snatched moments and it can take forever to build a song let alone get to proper arrangement and mixing. Nothing like the good old days... anyway that kind of frames my replies!
@Matt_Fletcher_2000 ... I'm trying to remember cause I put things through a fair amount of processes and have to commit on iOS (whereas on desktop I might have the ram to leave a lot of fx etc live). The basses are generally Audulus, Z3ta, Alchemy - there is a fair bit of layering so you might get an envelope filter move on one midrange bass and an opposing one on another bass. The basses get good treatment in their respective synths with envelopes and lfo's, but these have then been through Auria and had some dirt / modulation thrown in from saturn and volcano. Its not exactly where I want it - but it's kinda fun
@JohnnyGoodyear ... Heh, yeah I'm not playing that to my daughter.. yet. Although at some point I'll be introducing her to all the vinyl I've released in my life and some of it is a LOT dirtier than that! I think I've mixed it again - but then got sidetracked into some other tracks. I'll probably top and tail it so I have a song.. but damn time is hard to come by and I want to write so many different things!
I need to take inspiration from @djjuniorpops tune here and try to make some stuff which is a bit less busy and has more room to breathe. It not what comes naturally to me, so it a good exercise to try. I've got a couple more dirty bass numbers lurking and a couple of weeks of paternity leave lined up. If I'm lucky - I'll post them here, if I don't it's cause I'm covered in nappies and sick.
the thread title put me away first but yes, nice songs.I'm more on the minimalistic side ("funk is what you don't do") so i prefer the first one.
First of all thanks for all the positive comments, a lot of the bass sounds was done in Alchemy, you would be surprised what you can do with Alchemy, Some of the modulation was recorded In Alchemy with the performance pad , I also use iMini .
The final mixing was done in Auria
As a general I've found there are no tiny snatches in parenthood, but much pleasure all around, just the same...
Thanks both. Well the results are awesome.
I guess I need to spend some time getting up to speed with EQing and frequencies and all that stuff in Auria or similar to get anything to sound that good. It's the part I keep putting off because I want to finish a track and get onto the next one. Plus exporting every track out of Gadget and into Auria would need about 6 GB of space or something!
Auria is a power house, it's the best DAW on iOS when come on mixing and no other has the plugins power like Auria. Yes we have IAA but the pluging are not the same.
Its just a bit scary. And also quite expensive to invest in the plugins...
But one day...
Auria plug-ins = special sauce = priceless.
One day...
