can't remember the drum synth name ... *solved* Fractal Bits
It came out awhile ago ... maybe end of 2019ish? It was a fancy drum synth, I think all synthesis, futuristic looking ui? I'm trying to recall what it's called and I'm drawing a blank.

Ruismaker Noir but that came out like a year ago...
This?
Maybe??
Not that one, thanks!
EXCUSE ME?
so who has this one, and is it the bees knees and shoulders? Murder Bee's shoulders that is.
I seem to recall it was all synthesis, no samples.
The snappily named VADrumSM?

Maybe.
I think that may be it! But, it seems to me it was colorful.

That is the one!!!!!!!!! You win. Let me know how you would like your insult delivered. Do you have this? You likey?
Here is a DM2 overview by Mr. Doug Woods:
Looks like it was released in 2017 though.
All expletives on the back of a postcard please?
Yes, absolutely. Feed anything that generates MIDI into and start hitting the random forwards/backwards buttons. Use multiple instances with different rhythms and effects, lovely!
Well, in true kinkujin fashion, I just got them both as they were so cheap! Thanks @Jocphone, you simple bastard, I knew I never liked you. Now get gone! (let me know if you need that more harsh).
Appreciate all the help here fellow ABers.
The best thing about DM2 is the Drone Machine. It turns the 6 drum channels into six drone voices, each with its own synthesis, volume and pan control. Pretty unique. IAA unfortunately.
I’d use DM2 in everything if it was AUv3. Same for Elastic Drums, but they both just sit in a folder gathering IAA dust.
I'm not a power user so I don't have an issue with IAA at all. Not that they shouldn't be updated for the future...
At the price (2.99?) it is well well worth it to me.
I’m far from a power user too, just IAA feels flaky and doesn’t fit into my workflow.
Of course, now I'm thinking, what would make me a power user? hehehe Maybe dedication?
Ok so, I got DM2. Where are the kits? I see them listed but when I downloaded the app no kits came in.
Should be right here:

On the iPad, Fractal Bits has become basically “my” instrument. I’m sure it’s not for everyone when they think of “drum machine “ or “percussion synth “ but as far as iOS stuff goes, it plus Shoom are now like what I’m calling “home”
Most of the videos on my IG channel, especially the ones titled TekSketch are centered around Fractal Bits (and an ass-load of fx of course)

Keep in mind that some of the sounds generated have envelopes that work well with held notes, not just typical triggers.
Too bad you need to have an Instagram account to listen. From your description, they sound like they are excellent sonic adventures!
Pterodactyl Mitts
Thanks friend. I kept hitting import. Duh.
Yeah. Me too.
Really? I had no idea you needed account to see stuff!
That sucks... I guess I’ll clone them onto YouTube or something...
That would be awesome!
The AudioBus forum is pretty much the exception to my otherwise anti-social existence. 😉
Great little app, ideal for sprinkling extra audio toppings on a track
