Check my site for the third download link. I have removed the Upright Piano and reduced the size of the soundfont to 570mb.
This should work on most devices.

Thank you @Reuben! Confirmed that the 570mb SF2 does now load in the AUv3 Bs16i plugin on iPhone 7.

  • OK. New Nice-Keys-B downloaded and I notice BS-16i plays these pianos well but the SoundFonts app has audio quality issues. BS-16i definitely sounds better to me. The SoundFonts #1 Yamaha C5 Grand preset actually sounds like the attack is lowered so it
    doesn't sound realistic.

The Chateau Grand is a nice alternative but has a lot of reverb in the samples, I think but for slow solo piano that can be nice too as an alternative. It's recorded in a nice space.

The alternative instruments (C5 and Chateau) with added pad, strings, chamber strings and low strings are lovely too.

I'm also (re)discovering the value of the Eventide Blackhole dialed in as a general purpose reverb and not as a massive morphing FX app. I'll be using that more in future.

  • This one works fine on my iPhone 6s.

    Yamaha-C5-Salamander-JNv5.1

“Small sized and great for smaller ram devices or to keep ram usage to a minimum. Has 6 velocity layers, various brightness levels and optional resonance. Sounds almost identical to Version A but more compact.”

Pretty sure that’s the 15-layer version which works well on my 6s too. The SalamanderUltraCompact-JN-v3.0 is the 6-layer version.

  • But what the Decay knob do? Does it work?
