Is Steppolyarp unit too complex just because? Or am I too dumb for this?
Or maybe is a bug.. and on this case I would feel less dumb.
I set a simple 1/4 event line filled. Just basic stuff. > > > like that.
• Why when I play a chord on the sequencer it always play double notes? Instead of a C-E-G it plays C-C-E-E-G-G.
• Why when on arpeggiator when you play a chord the first note plays double? Instead of C-E-G it plays C-C-E-G.
• Why when I play a chord in arpeggiator mode it start randomly on the note SPA prefer (as if a AI was). Not what I want... just what this AI wants....
It happens either in AUM and cubasis 3.
Either I send the simple chord with drambo sequencer or I play on the keyboard on real time.
• Am i too dumb for this arpeggiator or is it a bug?

Well, the short answer is that StepPolyArp is not a traditional arpeggiator, it’s more like a sequencer for designing arpeggios. It can be made to do pretty much anything you want, but I would definitely recommend spending some time reading the manual, which is very well written.
I thought I had read the manual, but obviously something is not working as I want so I missed some chapter.
But what annoys me is that it is just simple basic stuff like the doubling notes ... as I explained.
Any SPA user helping hand here?
Which preset is selected? The patterns that play are related to which preset is selected, If you pick a different preset other notes may be repeated based on that pattern.
Have you checked that the "Step divided by" is correctly configured? If it is set to 2 then it will repeat the step twice
No preset. Just the fill all steps. Very basic.
I checked right now. It is configured as step divided by "No".
Ok.. I see one of the problem was that the chord on the sequencer in drambo was looped. I changed and double notes are off.
But I encounter another problem... everytime drambo sequencer start the cycle it sends message to SPA and this start at the beginning. So if it is a 3 notes chord ... when drambo finish the 4th beat on C it sends the same chord again to SPA and this restart from C again.
Wow... I will try to keep my mind sane as I'm going down this rabbit hole.
Thanks for your help.
SPA will arpeggiate the notes while they are held and otherwise start over with the ARP pattern when it receives a new chord. You will only want to apply new input only when the harmonic signature changes.
Sounds like you're getting a handle on it!
As @Tim6502 said, SPA is a pattern-based arpeggio, that's part of its power, but that means that if you send a new group of notes (even if it's the same chord as previously playing) it restarts the pattern (although, that's likely to happen with any arpeggiator)
Just feed it a sustaining chord until you want the pattern to reset, either because of harmonic change, or just because you want to retrigger the pattern.
Actually SPA does this but SPAU behaves differently. It seems to remember where it was in the arp, but only sometimes. I can't make any sense of this.
The only problem I still have (I guess is a bug and you all know it by now) is that when I play a chord the first note of the chord is repeated twice. Not always but more than a few times.
Sometimes the order is the correct. Maybe it is something to do with the way I press the keyboard but I doubt it because the drambo arp works perfect.
No, I checked this out and I get the arp behaving erratically (including sometimes sounding like a double first note) regardless of which order the notes in the chord are delivered. And like I said, it behaves consistently in the original version of SPA.
Actually, this just rang a bell for me. I wonder if this got broken in a recent-ish update. A week or two ago I tried one of my old saved projects that does some crazy boogie-woogie automation, and I couldn't for the life of me get it to work the way it used to. A change in how the arpeggiator behaves would explain it. From a recording I have, it seemed to be working okay on 19th September 2019. It would be interesting to see if anyone who hasn't updated beyond v4.1.7 sees different behaviour.
When I feed it from something like Tonality's chord pad I never get doubled notes.
When I play the AUM keyboard it's pretty easy to get doubled notes by very slightly staggering the notes (e.g. with C Maj chord, playing the C a few milliseconds before the E and G). This is even the case when the SPAU speed is on something slow like a 1/2 note. However, it's also possible to get SPAU to play consistently with very precise timing of the chord playing. But the difference between staggered notes (and resultant doubling) and simultaneous notes (and correct ordering of notes) is literally in the range of milliseconds (I have my fingers arranged to play correctly then tilt my hand by a few millimeters so the C finger lands a few milliseconds before the others).
Clearly there's a window that SPAU uses to determine what the next note is and clearly it's far too strict for mere mortals to play! Perhaps the dev could have a variable window setting, or just make the window something like half the current Speed value.
This must be an age-old problem that has long been solved by any app with a chord arpeggiator. I predict he's just messed something up while fixing something else!
The latch feature may be useful in your case, that way notes won’t necessarily restart your pattern.
There may be some new directions in here to explore:

How does this compare to Glitchcore/Riffer and how does ChordsPolyPad compare to Tonality?
I have an SPA question. The MIDI layout says that it's possible to change presets via MIDI CC, using codes 0-15. Unfortunately, the manual does not tell you how to assign the CC codes to particular presets. Does anyone know how to do this?
Which host are you running SPA in? Btw, I think you mean “patterns” not “presets” correct? See pic of exposed parameters in AUM.
