I got one last month, I really like it so far. I get some really clean recordings out of it
Does the loopback feature work on iOS devices?
Would like to know that too, on the Steinberg UR-242 the loop-back feature is disabled on iOS/iPadOS but works well with macOS and Windows etc....
@Fingolfinzzz does this provide 48V phantom power on its own, directly into an iDevice, or do you need to use a powered hub with it?
@Samu
Yeah it works fine for me, it’s been really useful when I’m recording guitar or other hardware. I have had some issues with it cutting out on my iPhone but I think that has something to do with the sample rate lock to 48k and I’ve had the Evo set on 44k. It works fine on my iPad Air 1 though I haven’t had any issues with it cutting out on there for the loopback.
Nice, thanks for confirming. Solid feature set and specs for the price!
You’ll have to use a powered hub for the phantom power but it works great with a hub
The Evo 4 seems nifty for the price. But I can't help thinking it's worth spending a little more for the MOTU M2 if for nothing else than the better build quality and meters. I also heard you can only use either headphones or the main outputs on the Evo 4, not both which seems weird and really inconvenient if you often switch back and forth.
@Fingolfinzzz - I just received an EVO 2. How are you able to send the iPad system audio into the loopback channel. Are you using AUM? If so, how do you have it set up? Thanks.
This thread describes what I am trying to do:
