  • Time Signature would be amazing. I guess the rest of stuffs it's perfectly fine.

It's a simple use Sampler so really i don't expect too much, and it's really fun to use ! Use your ears and that's all. You know the samplers you are loading there and i guess we can remember them ..... and it's a $4USD btw, i pay much more for shitty apps that i don't use anymore. Already had a LOT for the price of the app.

We have Drambo if we want more PRO stuff i guess ?

I‘m curious... is it possible to sync Koala to TE‘s Pocket Operators? That would save me from buying the PO KO which isn‘t that exciting to me anymore ;-)
    Cheers

Edit: so I figured that I have to connect Korg‘s synckontrol App with Koala via Ableton link. And then Plug in an Audio interface via CCK with the iPad. Weww that‘s complicated. I have to try that out, soon

  • I’m so late to the Koala party. What does everyone love about this app? I should probably just watch some videos...

It was a slow build for me as I dismissed it as more of a toy but once I learned you could export separated stems I decided to get in a notch deeper and find the spontaneous FX resampling is pretty addictive.

  • I have only one wish—Make it an AUv3

  • Sample rate conversion on loading of songs, so the songs play at the same tempo (if they were recorded at a different rate while connected to an interface, compared to using the onboard mic).

Yes please. A lot of my exports take so much work to reassemble because I have to time stretch this tiny amount on every file.

    Also, mutes!

-16 levels mode velocity would be great
-marginally more graphic customisation, made a skin and I’d love to be able to remove the line through the middle and set the pad/button colours to match. Maybe even background per page so I can make it function across the main pages nicely

Would pay for IAPs again, samurai is great. Are the devs active on here?

Marek sometimes frequents the Audiobus forum under the moniker @elf_audio . You'll get a lot more Koala Sampler content from the official group on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/groups/855048954841783

I’m thinking perhaps a more robust effects section? I mean I’m not going to complain at all about what we have already, it’s by far the most amazing app I have on my iPad and iPhone and remains the most fun and most inspiring tool I’ve used to make music, but if I were really really REALLY pushed, I would say an effects suite like the sp404 mk2 would be the icing on the cake.

+1 to this and all of the above that’s not there yet and:
Mute/Solo per pad with an unmute all button at the bottom maybe so we can remix the sequences even more on the fly. thanks! amazin app though

  • Wav preview in the import dialog when Koala is hosted as an auv3.

  • Hmm i’m really happy about Koala but for inspiration for new IAPs i say
    Ping-pong loop.
Velocity on pads ( like in Drambo and EG Pulse ).
Send bus to the FX section.

Note repeat and samples folder. These two things will make it unbeatable for ease of use, features and price. I'll even pay IAP for these two features?

For the samples folder I got you covered http://alexbuga.com/samplecrate/
    It will be out soon

Preserve original sample file name as it is being mangled and when exporting.

  • I wish it had a built-in “Brusfri”

It is very very good! For anyone who is a big sample user it’s a bit of a (for lack of a better term) game changer

  • For me it would be a song mode (ability to queue sequences to play next, regardless of length, song pointer etc). Especially for standalone.

Also I really like the sequencer so it would be neat to do MIDI out per pad (channel + root note I guess) so the sequencer could play other synths in not-standalone-mode.

But it is really great as it is.

what's wrong with dragging sequences one after the other to append them?

And yes Midi sequencing would make it my favorite sequencer, even with it quirks when changing pattern, but as you noted, it has so many pads that it should work as the audio channels work now, select a midi channel per pad.

It's not very flexible; you can't rearrange bits of it after the fact and so on.* It gets less convenient the longer the appended sequence gets. It's ok for exporting a final version of a song; but I'd like to just stay in Koala standalone on a phone for instance.

Other approaches is to keep the sequences of same or compatible length and switch between them with just the right timing. Also, resampling to pads and sequencing those.. but for me I'd pay for a song mode. Queue up a set of patterns and then go to the effects screen.

*) Actually now you kind of can, with the new sequencer

  • I wish it wasn’t pink. Dumb I know, but I prefer cooler colors for my music tools, reds, yellows, oranges, etc all feel weird to me.

  • I’d pay money for an Audioshare like file manager within koala where I can edit, rename, listen, etc.

@Tarekith you can change the background with a picture of your choosing. I use that feature extensively to get the right visuals to look at while creating

  • Be able to put labels on pads would be an ”easy” and very useful feature
