  • Thank you Julius! This is one of those apps that I have but never really got round to playing with properly. I was having a little play with it yesterday, and it seems very much up my alley indeed. I like this kind of weird and characterful stuff, it’s usually more interesting to me than the very transparent stuff. Thanks again for the tips.

ah yes thats tru used it on latest jam heh... yeah that pitchshifter is (very) FX and fun... drive rozeta lfo too it for mayhem

  • @Gavinski

I play the violin and for my instrument, the best polyphonic pitch shifter I found is the whammy pedal from Yonac's Tonestack

Then, if you want some formant filtering, you can add it afterwards (Tonestack also has some filters)

It is better than Dischord, VoiceSynth(it doesn't has a real pitch shifter), Turnado (it doesn't has a real pitch shifter), Moebius

  • Yes, as I said, that list is not all ‘classic’ pitchshifting effects. Is Tonestack AU? Cheers for chipping in!

The Discord 4 pitch shift is great, was playing with it more now. Also actually really like the dual band freq shifter in Moebius Lab. Hadn’t really learnt how to use that before now, it’s super cool too. Must definitely give bandshift more of a shot too, that’s a pretty cool app as well.

I think you can do formant in Cubasis.

I bet it's good but it's crazy expensive

  • Ah, because someone just said "violin". Have a look at iLEP. It's standalone I think but I love the design and concept in general. It definitely has pitch shifting. Not sure if it is stepless.

  • Oh yeah, forgot about ilep! Nice one

  • It has such simple graphics that it is easy to forget

  • It’s one of the many apps i have that i have yet to explore properly, I’ll get round to it eventually, it definitely seems worth learning

  • Same here but I have an idea! Make a tutorial about it

  • Add format filtering with Wow

  • @ttk does Yonac's Roxsyn (AUv3) cover the polyphonic pitch shifting as well as ToneStack's (IAA) Whammy?

I only have the hardware Whammy and it sounds much brighter and cleaner than the Roxsyn pitch shifter. Roxsyn's pitch shifters seem to be heavily low-pass filtered. For just a few semitones shifting or a little detuning it's not too bad though.
