  • Great, will be interested to hear what you thought of it, constructive views always welcome :)

  • I like the 'deep dive' nature of your videos. Really getting to turn over every stone. That mastering chain on your voice input is quite impressive too! Will you be doing a part 3? I'd love to get your take on using more of those RAU sections with AUs and rearranging them.

As for constructiveness, I think it'd be neat to include something like a short 'play' or demo section at the end of a video. Like, taking a few totally different sounding patches or snippets of a jam, and playing them back to back for a couple minutes. I think that could be a cool note to end a video on.

  • Yeah, that’s a good idea, the play at the end bit. The thing is, this one went on quite long already. I wanted to keep it under 20 mins, but it was not to be :D

Also, you’d be surprised how much time goes into the prep etc for these vids, so sometimes that limits what I can do too. Especially with these Amazing Noises and Apesoft apps. They are beasts to understand, they are tough to try to explain clearly, and then I need to play around a lot to even figure out what is the best way to show off each fx.

There will indeed be a part 3 where I will finish looking at the other fx types I haven’t covered yet, and also go into the synth, which I guess almost no-one uses, but which is actually an EXCELLENT sounding monophonic synth!!!

I mean, thinking of the cost of this, versus the cost of a new Eventide effect, as is being discussed right now in another thread, I really have to say that Moebius Labs is one of the most powerful and best value apps out there. It is hundred percent a must-have app in my opinion.

It's really an incredible app. I've always thought it didn't get near the attention it should have. And the fact you can load up a bunch of AUs that are mixed with the in-app effects and create incredibly complex effect chains... THEN, load the whole she-bang up in AUM/apeMatrix is infinitely "amazing".

I've never had any issues with Moebius Lab either. The included synth within Moebius is fairly spectacular too.

  • Totally! It didn’t get near the attention it should have for the simple fact that their apps take some study to understand, and many people just don’t have the patience to do that, which is a great pity imo.

  • I mean, many people won't even sit through an hour of video to learn how to use an incredibly deep and complex tool, so what chance does a dense 40 page manual have? 😂

  • thank you. really appreciate the in-depth explanation. spend days on end inside this app!

Thanks for the video, especially the trip into AAS Objeq was very informative. Looking forward to the synth-tutorial!!!🙏🏽🤙🏽👍🏽

  • Oh, Objeq is soooo good. And very cheap too. Please write to the company and ask them to port more of their stuff to iOS, they've got such great stuff and yet they only gave us this one tiny little gem fr their hoard. Anyway, thanks folks, I really appreciate your words :) @Satie @crifytosp

  • @Gavinski haven't watched the tutorials on Moebius Lab since I'm already pretty familiar with it. I skimmed a bit of each though. I didn't see whether you noted that it's also possible to drag up and slide over to reorder all the effects and AU modules if desired.

  • Think I mentioned that last time, it's a good feature, probably worth mentioning in the next one again though Skip, cheers

  • Good news! Alessandro from apeSoft is offering the winner of the free code a chance to choose an app other than Moebius, as I told him so many people had it. So, the winner can get ANY apeSoft app they want!

Again, details are on the youtube page comments section.

  • HeidiBonkers won the code (this info posted on youtube page too - not sure if she is a forum member or not). You can have a copy of Moebius, or any apeSoft app of your choice.

For the next installment, the winner will be able to get any apeSoft app or any Amazing Noises app. I asked for this, as so many people already have Moebius, and the devs were kind enough to agree.

  • She is actually a he and that is me. I already sent you an email.
Thanks a lot! I rarely win anything. Now I'll be watching those videos again before the code arrives.
P.s You did it again. Moebius lab is by Amazing Noises

  • Always nice when someone from the forum wins! Code has been sent, happy tweaking, and apologies about the gender assumption. I guess I’ll just have to use ‘they’ from now on to be on the safe side. 😁

  • No worries! I've been playing around with Moebius lab already and am loving it! No clue what to fill those EIGHT Au FX slots with yet but I'm sure I'll find something interesting. This might become my primary sound design tool! Looking forward to part 3 of your tutorial!

  • I was actually quite stoked to think I had a female viewer or two. I'll tell you, the youtube viewer stats show that iOS music making is overwhelmingly male and middle aged. Though I suppose it depends at least to some extent on content, and maybe the likes of Jakob, with his more fun and frantic vids, gets a younger audience than my more sedate efforts.

Oh, do u mean because I said Alessandro from apeSoft will offer any apeSoft app? That is not a mistake. This time, Maurizio from Amazing Noises was only offering Moebius. But Alessandro from apeSoft agreed last minute to offer any apeSoft app. They are sister companies, so apeSoft were involved in the making of Moebius.

Next episode, any apeSoft or Amazing Noises app will be available to win. Bit confusing I know, but no mistake on my part this time. 😅

  • Fantastic videos, thanks for making me aware of a very interesting app I otherwise would have missed.

Could you please tell me, can you use the native LFOs to control exposed parameters of the AUv3s you host inside Moebius Lab?

I've used these same LFOs on their DubFilter unit, and really like the way the work.

  • Thnx @drewinnit !Unfortunately not. I actually contacted Amazing Noises to ask why this is not possible, they said they hadn't been able to find a way to implement it, not sure why. Such a pity. Still a great app though.

  • thanks for the info @Gavinski , that's a shame but the app still looks incredible without this feature.

I can imagine this is the perfect environment for building up sound design elements to then use in a track. I think I'll invest in it this week when I have some spare hours to spend learning it

  • Definitely won't regret it, it's one of the biggest bangs for your buck on the whole iOs platform!

  • I was thinking to buy Mixbox CS.. But after seeing this app's capability it seems this one will be a better choice... What you guys recommend?

  • @sujoybose77 nice to see you digging in to this. Well, this and mixbox are two pretty different things. This does a lot, is excellent for experimental stuff, very good value, but not audio unit. This can be a host though. If you like experimental things, maybe go for this. If you want something more conventional, emulations of famous compressors etc, go with Mixbox. I never did a part 3 in the end because I found that multi part videos get exponentially decreasing views, it is not worth the effort from my side. Great app though.
