Ability to learn MIDI Learn button
Give the ability to map “MIDI Learn” on midi event.
This way midi learn can be called from the plugin, so we would be able to map plugin’s knobs on midi event?
Comments
Why?
So you could control arbitrary parameter of hosted plugin with midi device
Any app with MIDI learn offers that. Remote control of the "Learn" button won't help much if you still have to choose the destination parameter on the touch screen.
What do you mean?
There are AU plugins that let you map midi controls on them in AUM, but you can’t map their midi controls if they are hosted in audio bus
Yes you can. Audiobus has midi-learn as an in app purchase. But, it's a bit complicated when you want to midi learn from an app rather than hardware, but it can be done. You need to send from the app to "Midi Learn" then from Midi Learn to the app you want to control.
If you want to describe which apps you want to send from and control, I may be able to provide more detailed instructions.
In general, you need to provide more detail in your questions if you want to get help. You tend to fire off vague one-sentence questions then leave it for others to puzzle out what it is you're really asking.
Say I’d like to map Scale switch in ScaleBud inside of the audiobus is that possible?
yes. Tap the icon that looks like a midi plug. I think you get some instructions at that point. You will need to make a small in-app purchase if you haven't already. If you're mapping from a hardware controller, it's pretty straightforward. If you're wanting to map from another application to the scale switch in ScaleBud then it's a little more complicated.
If you get stuck, describe the problem and I'm sure someone will try to help.
-good luck.
