wow thnx @wim your scripts ace
Cool. That's good to hear. 👍🏼
That looks very interesting Wim, looking forward to trying! Thnx
You may make it in Drambo, with just a few taps.. Its basically a modulated delay line (use unipolar mode, so it goes to zero) For more sophisticated effects you may use stereo lfo or add a modulated frequency shifter at the end. (iPhone screnshot)
A modulated delay will change its pitch like in vibrato.
Correct.
When using the Drambo Vibrato, make sure you increase the delay time somewhat to avoid crossing the zero border.
Edit: Or disable "Bipolar" like @giku_beepstreet has shown in his example 😅
@rs2000 There are several methods with different results. From delay line modulation to frequency shifter or allpass filter frequency modulation (Like in Univox/Univibe) (lets try modulating Filter/AP6 or AP12)
@wim Mr. Vibe is fantastic!!!! Thanks!
I am pretty much pumped how this thread turned out. But I am feeling way to stupid to get this going. I would love a video to Mr Vibe and the Dramboz edition, if this isn’t too much
I thought about making a video, but was too lazy. Mr. Vibe may look complicated, but it's really pretty simple. Just set a synth that responds to pitch bend to receive from it. Then move the "Bend Range" control up some. You should see the pitch wheel in the synth start to move up and down and you should hear the pitch changing if you play some notes on the synth.
Bend Range is your main expressive control for increasing or decreasing the vibrato. Speed 1 is the other. This one affects how fast the vibrato is. Play these two together to get the two main components of a good vibrato. But, you can color it further by bringing in some of the second LFO to make the first less regular. Move the speed and Mod 1>2 controls up a bit and you'll see the movement become more irregular.
The Mod controls work like the Bend controls, except they send a midi cc of choice out instead of pitch bend.
Lastly, you can switch pages with the SHIFT button and there you can assign the XY pad to controls instead of it graphically showing the output. The best place to start is to set the X axis to Speed 1 and the Y axis to Bend Range. This gives you great control over the character of the vibrato just by moving your finger around. Up-Down is the amount of vibrato, and Left-Right is the speed.
bumping this thread just to see if there have been any updates. looking for a solid vibrato
I use Tricera chorus for vibrato. Other options are to use just wow and flutter from say Reelbus or chow tape.
Exactly. It's a tiny change in pitch, but it becomes very obvious when one plays a stringed instrument.
