Comments

  • So, am I wrong if I say this would make Taqsim the first app able to import a read Sfz bank natively ?

  • @Paulo164 AudioLayer already did

  • The docs say SFZ or zip, but I'm not finding either that Taqsim will import. The problem is usually that it can't find samples.

AudioLayer had/has the same issues, and the solution was a laborious moving or editing, which I don't care to do on iOS.

Is there a list of sites containing free SFZ that are in a format that Taqsim can import?

    From this site: https://www.discodsp.com/soundware/?id=1

In "Fairlight Series III Factory" I downloaded the AccGtr0.sfz and the AccGtr02*.wav files to a folder and imported them into World Piano without any problems.

  • Damn, @White, you’re really on the ball!

Was just going to post the update and you’re light years ahead with Fairlight link to boot!

    Most impressive!

Ah ok, thank you. So let’s say it’s the first free ?

  • You might want to try SCC Expressive Strings which sound awesome :

For info, Audio Evolution Mobile Studio does import soundfonts and sfz formats.

Where do I find the Fairlight files? Can’t see them on that website

It looks like they have been removed ☹️

I found another link to it here: http://madtheory.com/site/fairlight-series-iii-factory-library/

  • They’ve gone too.
Someone must be on to us!

  • For those having problems importing their sfz files into TAQS.IM, I have been able to navigate to my On My iPad/AudioLayer/import/InstrumentsFolder using the import option from the TAQS.IM preset menu. You can store your sfz files and their corresponding samples in whatever document area you’d like including AudioShare.

Details for this sfz file and samples are in the video description. Karoryfer has created many well documented and excellent sfz instruments. He targets them to work with the plogue sfz apps like Sforzando which works very well on computers but unfortunately hasn’t come to Apple’s mobile devices yet. If you want to know the full capability of sfz and have a computer, I’d recommend checking out Sforzando so you can see what the sfz instruments are capable of versus how they perform on your phone or iPad apps.

The TAQS.IM app does a good job of balancing content packs, providing excellent information, and allowing you to import your own content. The drone mode and scale support are excellent. Unlike some IAA apps, TAQS.IM loads directly into AUM with no problems and has a button to take you back to your IAA audio host app. In many ways, TAQS.IM is similar to Beathawk in its approach to sample packs.

  • Next step AUv3 then it will be real epic🤘

Agreed. I'm not as obsessed with AU-for-everything as some, but I would really like to see this chap go that way...

Thanks for the detailed steps but whatever I try, the "Done" button (in the top right corner of the folder picker windows) always indicates "Cancel". So, I just can cancel the action. Has anybody already succed in importing an Sfz folder in Taqs.Im ?

Do you get an import option when you press the preset area? If yes then you’ll might get something like this:

I will add that my iPhone 6 running iOS 12.4.7 could not import successfully as I could never select the folder or zip file to import a zip like I could on iPads running iPadOS. I don’t have an iPhone running iOS 13 🤷🏻‍♂️.

If these suggestions don’t work, I’d suggest contacting the TAQS.IM developer to resolve your import problem.

  • Thank you.
No, my iPad is running iOS 12.4 and I am unable to select a folder :

I will try tomorrow with my iPhone running on iOS 13 and inform the developer about the issue with iOS 12.
    Thanks again.

Yes, I get the same problem with imports on my iPad Mini 2 on iOS 12.4.7 where you can’t select the folder or zip file to be able to import sfz instruments.
