What is the iPad doing?
@TheOriginalPaulB the ipad is playing apps , sequenced by the Digitone.
So the output of those apps feeds back to the Digitone and is audible at the Digitone OP if you plug it into an amp?
i can record the digitone and the apps from the out of the digitone in my zoom h6, no problem. what i dont understand is what do i have to do in order to record in audioshare ( audioshare in my phone , phone being connected to the out of the digitone ) @TheOriginalPaulB
Ok. Then you need to look at how you connect to the iPhone.
Are you using an audio interface?
generally speaking, if i want to record my voice in audioshare it works, but if i plug a cable from the phone or pad in an external device, audioshare takes the sound from the mic, not from the cable going to the external device. have no idea what am doing wrong @TheOriginalPaulB
What cable is going from device to phone?
no i plug a cable usb c in the phone that goes in the out of the digitone in that case @TheOriginalPaulB
That sounds like your problem. An audio output is analogue, USB C input on phone needs a digital signal. You need an audio to USB interface.
Ok. Now I see the photo.
What you have there is an Apple lightning to headphone adaptor, which I suspect is output only.
It’s as if you are plugging your DN output into the headphone socket of an amplifier. It isn’t going to work.
Is there any reason you aren’t recording everything on the iPad you have connected to the Digitone?
ok thanks. and yes i record in aum but i wanted to try something else
You’re better off recording on the iPad as using the iPhone would involve A/D and D/A conversions.
@TheOriginalPaulB thank you sir !
You’re welcome.
