Zenbeats Gets Bug Fix Update! And yet another!
In general Zenbeats has not been buggy for me. I’ll see if I can find out what’s been addressed. They are working on features as well. Looking forward to that. I know audio editing to go along with AUDIO TRACKS 🤣 is on the list, plus updates to SampleVerse. No ETA on any of it.

So far i tested for the issues i was having with mixdown and pops and skips. I’m happy to announce that it is working perfectly!❤️❤️❤️❤️☝️🙏
Awesome!
I gave it a brief try this morning and so far, so good. Glad to see that they are knocking down bugs. I couldn't find a quick answer using search: can I use a MIDI controller to control scenes in Zenbeats?
So i went back and re-enabled force 44.1 and Plugin delay compensation and re mixed down and my final mix had zero pops or skips! Wow so happy!❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏☝️😌
Wow. I was finally able to mixdown my AUv3-laden song on my iPad Pro, and I didn't even have to enable real-time render.
I have an Akai LPD8 and MIDI assigned the pads to the play buttons on 8 clips and they worked as expected. Pads have to be in toggle mode and use CC setting.
Ah, I had missed the MIDI learn function until I pressed the > at the top and revealed the other menu options. Works well, thanks!
I have a Nektar 25 key controller with 8 knobs. I plugged it in, MIDI learned 2 knobs, recorded the automation, went back and cleared the automation, learned a couple of other functions, did a pass and done. Was pretty easy without much effort. Make sure to check all functions under the learning menu.
Hrmmm. Just reinstalled the app and i am still encountering the Crash of App on loading my plug-ins 🧐
If it crashes on loading plug-ins what other crashes will i experience.
Yeah, same. Sigh. And it was going so well up until I re-scanned my plug-ins!
Took like 5 relaunches to load all the plug-ins. I want to like this app but man...I’m always encountering workflow issues.
Uggghh
Bummer
Still got a few hiccups here and there but way less than before. Less if you use realtime render. Like maybe one or two. But with out it a lot more.
Quick question. Does anyone else still find it super annoying that playback stops when you Save the session?
Here's what is bugging me... So, I similarly labored through scanning plug ins and crashes. Got everything mostly in and then did some other stuff in AUM. Came back to Zenbeats and the plug ins I had scanned previously were all gone again. Sad! This app has so much potential but if the basics don't work...
Yes
Also, does anyone know if Drambo Sequencer can be used inside of ZenBeats to send notes from its sequencer to another track?
I know how to send Midi from 1 track to another in ZB...but using the Drambo Sequencer doesn't seem to be able to pass notes to other tracks.
My guess is that auv3 midi sequencers won't work internally with ZB to send Notes from those kind of apps to other instrument Tracks...none of the iOS DAWS appear to support this with Drambo fwiw.
That’s weird. I have 83 plug-ins and they all scanned in one shot. I’m also being brutally honest and dumping those I really don’t need. I’ll take 1 good hammer over 10 more or less equal ones in my new tool box. ✌🏼
FWIW, gonna give it a test drive today. I have always been a fan of the Clip Launcher. Will post my results on the YouTubes later as usual
I’m more of a linear guy. I didn’t know it had a linear mode at first. Both have their applications.
i have close to 200 plugins, and got a clean install on the first time trying - i've been using it more the past week or so and haven't had one issue yet.
Yeah, I like that you can record your Clips to the Linear arrangement as well if I'm not mistaken...been several months since I've used it...Good way to capture those LIVE moments...
Yes you can record clips to linear tracks or record live clip performance to wav
Which model and which OS version?
regular 2018 ipad (6th gen)... ios 12.2
I’ve got roughly the same amount of plugins and had no trouble either,128gb 2016 Pro on 13.4 also iPhone 7 128gb no trouble, this was a month or two ago...
Attention @VirSyn developer and @MatthewAtZenbeats Installation of Zenbeats on iPadOS prevents SFZ import into AudioLayer
Roland Zenbeats version 1.2.2 released on 06/15/2020 blocks AudioLayer from being able to import SFZ instrument files by changing the system file type. Its icon changes to that of an audio file with a waves icon. I emailed both the AudioLayer developer and the Zenbeats developer in March and the problem still persists despite several updates to Roland Zenbeats since then. The video is from screenshots of an iPad Air 2 on iPadOS 13.5.1. My iPad Mini 2 on iOS 12.4.7 does not have this bug and can successfully import SFZ instruments into AudioLayer with the Roland Zenbeats 1.2.2 app installed on it.

Ironically, the free TAQS.IM app is uneffected by this bug and can even import SFZ instruments stored in the AudioLayer import folder of its document area on iPadOS but not on my iPad running iOS 12.4.7.
Same. Plugins scan fine now and have never disappeared. I don't recall ever having any crashes while using the app, though I haven't pushed it super hard. I haven't done any mix downs, so I can't comment on that, but I've frozen and unfrozen several tracks without issue. iSEM sounds garbled on project reload, so I have to remember to save and restore the preset on that one if I use it. Multitrack Recorder insta-crashes the app if you load it, but there's no reason I need that.
Other than that, just needing to remember to do a "Scan for new" if I've bought any new plugins is the only issue I have with ZenBeats. iPad Air 2 latest iOS.
(Note on above issues: I haven't tried the update released today yet.)
Happy to report that I have something good cooking in the oven. So far it's feeling really good and the app is pretty solid.
Plugin scan issues have been fixed as far as I know.
