Dope!
Witch house! What a very excellent genre! And Str3ga - I see what you did there. :
From Wikipedia:
“ Stregheria (Italian pronunciation: [streɡeˈriːa]) is a form of Witchcraft with Southern European roots but also includes Italian American witchcraft. Stregheria is sometimes referred to as La Vecchia Religione ("the Old Religion"). The word stregheria is an archaic Italian word for "witchcraft", the most used and modern Italian word being stregoneria. "Stregoneria Italiana" is a form of stregoneria that is Catholic-rooted folk magic having little if any relationship to other forms of Italian Witchcraft.“
👍 👹
Love those Bulgarian women! I don’t think that’s the Bulgarian Women’s Chorus, tho!
Witchhousey? That’s a thing? All my witches in da howse!
Nice.
I’m learning some history while enjoying this awesome track.
Thanks for the info.
😊
Excellent track, @JeffChasteen.
Really liking it.
Nice work @JeffChasteen 👍
@JeffChasteen I went to Bulgaria (or was taken) when I was 12. 2 weeks at a resort very much designed for English holidaymakers. Brown sauce on the tables. Lots of beach to get red on. Towards the end of our stay they poured us onto a coach one night and drove us into the mountains. Huge fires. Pigs roasting. Two bears chained and dancing. Women singing, howling. We all got drunk (even the 12 years olds) and ran home shaken and stirred. A far more mysterious place than we had imagined...
Will definitely check this out later. Have some good friends that create witch house and I’m already a fan of the genre.
Some witch trivia to add to the history lesson.
Trivia is the Latin for crossroads (three roads - a main one and two side ones, geddit?) and is also the name of the goddess of witches who were strongly associated with crossroads (not sure why).

Hmmm...
The devil is associated with the crossroads as well.
Interesting.
🤔
Not another ‘I’m leaving’ thread...
😉
This is awesome 👊
@Lady_App_titude : again, Wikipedia is my friend :
“ Witch house is a dark, occult-themed electronic music microgenre and visual aesthetic that emerged in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The music is heavily influenced by chopped and screwed hip-hop soundscapes, industrial and noise experimentation, and features use of synthesizers, drum machines, obscure samples, droning repetition and heavily altered, ethereal, indiscernible vocals. The witch house visual aesthetic includes occult, witchcraft, shamanism, terror and horror-inspired artworks, collages and photographs as well as significant use of hidden messages and typographic elements such as Unicode symbols.”
Best of all, as the Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_house_(genre) goes on to explain, it was a term made up initially as a joke by a couple of early proponents to describe their sound!
It’s now my second favourite genre after it’s older, more chin stroking cousin, dark ambient.
Thanks!
Thank you for listening!
Thank you very much!
What’s not to love? 😀
Oh yeah!
Oh yes!
Thank you much!
Glad you enjoy it.
Thank you very much!
Sounds like a great holiday! You lucky kid...
Thank you for listening!
No, it will take a ban to get rid of me. Well...another one.
Thank you for your kind words!
Yes, there is frequently a “tongue in sunken cheek” quality to the genre.
That goes for “the occult” in general. Besides being a visionary artist, Kenneth Anger is also a hilarious guy.
