Easiest way to move recordings from iPad to iPhone?

One of the things that is not as smooth as I'd like is moving my recordings from iPad to iPhone. I'd rather not have to go through iTunes on my MacBook.

Ideally, I want to practice guitar or bass on JamUp, play along with Mp3s using JamUp or AnyTune Pro, record the two together, and have it easily transfer as a recording from the iPad to the iPhone.

Why iPhone? It is conveniently with me anywhere for listening.

Any tips?
Thanks,

  • I use and love dropbox (often via Audioshareand or DropManager). If your wifi/interwebs connection isn't that hot, it may not be a great option for you. Mine's not so bad.

  • Thx. I have good wifi.

  • You could also go directly iPhone to iPad via WiFi using GoodReader, most Apps will at least let you cp with AudioShare and that can then move the files into GoodReader fro transfer, and back. Also iOS will let you do it with AirDrop into the receivers' clipboard straight from AudioShare to AudioShare

  • Just touching base again on this topic… I found SoundCloud to be a pretty good way to do this. When I'm driving in my car with my iPhone, SoundCloud streams reasonably quickly.

None of this still is as quick and easy as my desktop DAW, Presonus studio one. When you create a project with that software, you can mix down many songs at once. Very convenient. Then it just goes to my iPhone.

Btw, I just bought Auria for the iPad. I hope that it has a convenient way to move several recordings at once to my iPhone, but probably not.

    Thanks,

  • Hey AudioShare users: what's the best way to get files from a DAW to AudioShare? In GarageBand I can do "open in AudioShare" from the file list menu. But with MT DAW, I don't see how to do it other than recording it as an input in AudioBus. I don't want to have to copy/paste because you'd have to select every single region to get the whole mix.

Is there an easier way? Everybody raves about AudioShare, I just got it yesterday and must be missing something.

  • You could mix something down by emailing it to yourself, then open in Audioshare from there if you don't want to have to use a computer.
