Midi Feedback in NuRack (to update values) for MIDI pads etc. would be useful!
We can build Control surface in NuRack but only for send, and not response to MIDI.
For example MIDI Mixer app is reacting to MIDI and It is great (snapshots, automation, controllers with Feedback).
Version 1.47 is out:
Added a Mid/Side Splitter and Mid/Side Mixer. These two modules work together to first split an audio signals MID and SIDE band components and later recombine thw two back into a stereo image. You can then add additional effects to either the MID or SIDE bands to create some nice spacial sounds. Adding a Reverb to the SIDE band is great for adding ambience to a mix without saturating the MID's.
Saves me from buying the standalone sideband remix app. Nice!
Can you use this in multi-channel mode?. Been trying but I can’t figure out how to send to NuRackFX buses other than Bus1. Cheers!
I was trying the same, but couldn't figure out how to do it.
I will record melodica on two mics, one from distance in room and one close to the source, to try mid/side processing. Im hoping for more natural sound in compare to one mic recording.
Anybody knows how to set dotted value for stereo or tape delay? Can't find any clue ...
nope
It doesn't look like that's possible.
Uh, thanks. I didn't expect this answer at all. Nobody miss that? It is quite basic feature for delay effect.
tbh, I've never used those delay FX. NuRack isn't something I naturally think about when reaching for a delay. But yes, that's a surprising omission, along with triplets.
Is the example below where NuRack is loaded as a Multi-Bus Audio Unit instance similar to what you are trying to do? This example shows NuRack performing sidechain compression.
I want to use the chord to midi module in Nurack but I can’t find any documentation on it. Can you help please? Thanks 👍
Hi. I was curious, so I checked this out. It recognizes various chords input as MIDI note messages, and generates the configured output when that chord is received. It does not detect chords from audio.
You load it as a MIDI effect, in an AUM MIDI slot or equivalent. Route your chord MIDI into it, and the output to what you want to control. The screenshot shows it configured to generate note 60 (middle C) when it receives C major, any inversion. I play C major on the keyboard, all notes together, and the monitor shows the generated output. You configure each of the MIDI Mappings (A-L) to respond to a different chord.
I'm not sure exactly what use this may have. I suppose you could use an unlikely chord like Gb to trigger a CC or PC and exercise control from the keyboard. Also, you can use non-chords like D,Eb to trigger an event. The general problem of MIDI chord recognition is a tricky one. This module avoids problems by defining a fixed palette of specific chords.
Thanks for taking the time to check this out👍 What I wanted to do was generate a set of chords then use this to generate a melody accompaniment. I’ll take another look, thanks again, I appreciate it
Well done. Paul at 4Pockets has a knack for finding the answers to problems or needs that no one even knew they had. I can't think of a specific use case off the top of my head, but I can see how it might work. Let's say you have a project or a song that is producing MIDI output, or something that can be played back and produce MIDI output. You could potentially set this up to detect up to 12 different chords, and then based on the detection of that chord, send MIDI to trigger an action in another app or instrument. Obviously it will only detect three simultaneous overlapping MIDI notes as a chord, but from a short bit of testing, it doesn't seem to matter if the notes are separated by a few seconds, as long as the converge at some point, and there cannot be any notes outside of the selected chord triggered before the the match occurs. It also doesn't seem to matter which octave they are triggered from either and with inversions allowed, it means you can trigger on chords which are quite spread out and in different voicings.
Here's one possible scenario where I could see it used:
Obviously this is a bit of a stretch, but I find it really fun and interesting to try these kind of "out there" experiments - sometimes they totally flop, but every once in a while I stumble on a new idea or a new technique that I would otherwise not have found. A "bad" idea that doesn't work sometime leads to a great idea based off of it. That's happened for me a number of times with the 4Pockets apps.
**Edit: Added bullet points
Brilliant! Thanks for the ideas 👍😀
Does anyone have issues with Nurack in Twisted Wave Editor?
I can use it in Wavebox and all DAW but when opened in Twisted Wave the interface is not clickable, so you can't do anything.
Strangely enough I was able to use it a couple of times and then it also froze on me giving the error shown below.
So yes, I can confirm, using it on an iPad Pro 12.9” 1st Gen with iPadOS 15.5.
I've had the same error pop up in the Mac version of TwistedWave as well so this IS something the TwistedWave developer has to sort out as the plug-ins work in all other hosts and apps, I've reported this more than once...
It could have something to do with 'sandboxing' but I'm not 100% sure on this.
Another thing I've noticed in Twisted Wave is that when a Plug-In doesn't support one-channel audio TwistedWave can dive...
...prime example here is AudioKit Rack Reverb which simply crashes with mono-files, converting the file to stereo prior to loading the effect works though...
I'd suggest getting in touch with Thomas the TwistedWave developer.

Cheers!
I have emailed their support to let them know 👍 Thank you.
Would anybody know if it would be possible to setup to record Midi CC messages along a tracks timeline to be playback again
Not with NuRack.
