Cubasis3 minisampler I load sample in Edit then adjust start&end but cb3 plays entire sample

@LFS In sample edit I trigger sample with keys or pads or the play symbol after adjusting start/end but all the sample is being triggered Any help appreciated. Cheers. Also copy paste sample to other pads is doing nothing

You have to 'trim/crop' the sample in the MiniSampler after adjusting the start & end...

Hopefully a more advanced sampler is not too far off...
...I mean the Cubase Sampler Track in Cubasis would solve 99% of many users sampling needs...

Now I have to resort to 3rd party apps (sEGments, AudioLayer, Drambo etc.) that will never (at least as long as AUv3 plug-ins are heavily sandboxed) allow direct and tight host integration...

@Samu ok thanks. Thats crazy can’t hear what the user is editing. Still getting my head around Segments for me its a bit hmmm not sure but its early days . Has digistix worked ok for you in cb3. Iam thinking of getting it

You can hear the edits if you tap the small play arrow on the left of the waveform...
...but not when playing the keyboard or pads.

You'll soon see it's pretty wonky to work with and filled with WTFs.
It needs a serious overhaul to become a usable tool and I think @LFS and his team knows this by now...
(Why is it so hard to create custom drum machine, give us a 'Classic Machine' with pad tuning and sample import for starters).

Heck even GarageBand is faster at creating playable instruments from recorded audio events :D
(Just drag any audio to a track with the sampler and boom).

I'm spending more time on Logic Pro X on my Mac to keep my sanity and use the iPad as a sound module for now...

sEGelements is for example integrated pretty tight... while you have it opened inside DAW, you can drag Apple Files app over the DAW screen and then dragndrop files directly from that DAW folder into sEGments ... don't know what is more tight integration :-)

i mean this.. here i'm in iddle of dragging files from nanostudio's library folder directly into segment... i guess it works same way in any daw

That is what I do already...
...In Cubasis I save the audio-event to the media bay and the use the Files.app pop-over and navigate to the Cubasis folder (or any other source) and drag the audio to sEGments...

In Cubasis when arrangements get bigger there is no easy way to access all audio & midi events within the project for easy arranging or using it as a 'clip drawer'. (I do this in Logic Pro X all the time).

Image I tab in the Media Bay where all audio & midi events included in the project would be listed and from there it would just be a simple drag'n'drop to the time-line, sampler track, AUv3 Plug-in etc. etc. etc. (Again same deal in Logic Pro X).

I did extensive testing of sEGments with Cubasis so I know what it can and can't do :D

@samu cheers as always . In cb3 when i tried mini sampler editing with the small play symbol in the edit screen it too is playing all the sample. Will try again.

  • @Samu ok sorted got to switch on loop sample. Your right be much better to trigger edit samples with pads or keys.

If you've moved the Start point, tap the >| to set the playhead to the start locator end then tap the >

Is there a universal clipboard for audio in iOS, so DAWs could have save to clipboard, on their timeline, and plugins could have load from clipboard ?

There was the General Pasteboard before it was sabotaged by RNyms and their AudioCopy.app...

Once you delete the AudioCopy app the general pasteboard is usable, one file/sample at a time
Works between Auria and MTS, BM3 etc

True, for me I've transitioned to mostly using 'built-in' iOS things, Files.app / Document Picker & Share Sheet etc.
Sure they can glitch out at times but most of the time they just work :)

Yep that stuff is way better, generally.

It’s funny Auria has the old Paste icon on its main GUI, you have to menu dive to get to the more modern ways and means
