Roland TR-8 and iPad/Audiobus?

edited March 2014 in General App Discussion

Has anyone weakened and bought a TR-8 yet...?

It crossed my mind that with the USB out addressing each drum and the audio ins separately it could make an interesting addition to an iPad setup, particularly once AB 2 becomes available and each drum could be sent to a separate effect?!

That's of course only if an iPad can see and access each of those outs....?

Has anyone thought about this or even better tried it? Could be pretty awesome with Auria, amonst others now, if it actually works?

  • Looked on their site and there are downloads for drivers for both Windows and Mac, so it isn't class compliant...

  • Drat, I was wondering this too.

  • I was looking at a mixer yesterday that is class compliant but also had drivers so I'm not entirely giving up hope but it's not a good sign!

  • Just read the manual, says you "must" download the drivers to use with a computer....sounds like a dead end for iPad :(
