Nice To Be Your Friend Synth -- Out now, and free through Wednesday
Folks -- our new SoundFont based synth is out. It's got dual keyboards, Audiobus (of course), and supports Apollo MIDI over Bluetooth. Free until Wednesday, and we're knocking Apollo down to a buck too. Reviews in iTunes would be very much appreciated!

Love it so far, Patrick! Just played for 5 min, but very intuitive and some amazing sounds. Plus, I love that it's universal. Thx!
Great app, really good sounding GM bank. And also works brilliantly as a midi controller with its dual keyboards w. pitch and mod wheels, via virtual midi, network and Bluetooth. Very very nice freebie, many thanks. 5 star app fo' shizzle! Btw, you can flip one of the keyboard around, and there be some weird new picture everytime underneath it, nice touch lol
Edit: It does ask you to turn on Bluetooth every time you start the app (veery minor niggle though, just thought I should mention it),
Edit: Reviewed! I suck at doing reviews, but hopefully it'll help at least somewhat.
Thanks for the heads up Patrick, much appreciated. Will leave review. Cheers
Very nice gift Patrick. Thank you.
Thanks a lot!
I cranked out a 5-star review. Awesome variety of fun instruments to play with. Good job Secret Base Designers!!!
5 stars from me too. Thanks!
Thanks!
Shit! Thank you and congrats on the release.
Just grabbed it; shall play around with it later. Thanks for the freebie!
Very cool,thanks!
Ah, poo... forgot to grab Apollo during the sale.
Thanks for the heads-up (and the sale!) Can't wait to check it out. It's a good idea to build up goodwill with promotions like that in this community - I've noticed that people notice good developers and will gladly pay for and promote their other software if they find something from them they like at a good price (or free promotion).
Nice app, along with midimorphasis, thanks!
@OmnilimbO -- yup, Apollo for iOS went back to regular price. The Mac version is still free, and will stay that way.
NTBYF will be free for a couple more days. I've got an update waiting for review that cleans up a UI problem on older iPads; after that, it'll go to $4. There will be an update in about a month that will let you import your own SoundFonts, and maybe one other feature if I can drink enough coffee.
Ohh SoundFonts, cool!
@SecretBaseDesign
First off, loving this app. I have got it controlling 2 synths, pads on one and a soft lead on another.
Two Questions, is this the replacement for your Midi control app, or is that still in the works?
Is it possible to get a descent size strum option implemented, say like Thor, but much larger, across a set of keys. Or possibly using one keyboard to controller the others key? Thinking accordion, with this apps ability to rotate the keyboard, it just seems made for it. Hope this makes sense and am not trying to sound ungreatful, just would like to see it improve.
Thanks again
A MIDI Control reboot is still in the game plan. The focus will be on a variety of control surfaces, plus I'll be adding some MIDI looping functionality. I'm a big fan of Chordion, and the Thor strum widget is nice too. I think I've got a bit of a different approach, so it won't be a knock-off.
Everything takes longer than I think it'll take, and there are a few other things in the pipeline, but I'm hoping to have the update out before summer.

This is great news. A low resource app dedicated to this will be most welcome. And hopefully a great expandable platform for you to grow and offer value through (value for which you charge money!).
@SecretBaseDesign Something I'd like to see in your new MIDI control app would be a Geo style grid controller, with the same row and column configurability, the same pitch bending on sideways drags (talk to sonosaurus re polyphonic pitch bending), but selectable channel/poly aftertouch on vertical movement. That would be an instant purchase for me.
It's really cool! Seems to lag just a little bit at times, but what a great variety of sounds! Apps like this ThumbJam will tend to stay on my devices just in case you need a certain kind of piano, flute, synth strings, etc.

Lags a bit with polyphonic play on ipad 2 but great sounding stuff. Snatched it before it got priced too thanks!
And while we're here, one other freebie is updating now -- you can check out my app on Computational Complexity. Quick sort, insertion sort, heap sort…. Big-O, Omega, Theta. Foundational computer science theory from Hartmanis and Stearns. Source code available too. What, make music? No, it's not a music app. But it's free, and everyone likes free, right? :-).

And now NTBYF should be updating. I'll keep it free for a little bit longer, then it'll have to start earning it's keep. Here's the link again, if you need it.

Update is out. That did seem to speed it up on my iPad - thanks!
