Nembrini Delay3000 Ping Pong

Does anyone know if I can get a Ping Pong Delay out of this unit? Also can I get a Dotted 1/8th in the left side and a 1/4 note in the right side. I was looking to get the Dubstation2 but the Numbrini just went on sale and it has a Damper. If it can get a ping pong and left and right with the Numbrini I will get it. On the desktop I'm using the brainworx Delay 2500 which has just about everything in a delay you could want, so I guess I'm spoiled.

Thanks for any help

Bill

  • It’s an outstanding delay, but it has fixed patterns - I assume they’re the same as on the original hardware. There are quite a few, but I can’t promise exactly the thing you’re going for.

I think of this as one for the ‘inspirational mojo’ toolkit, rather than surgical strikes. It’s definitely my favourite delay on iOS, but who knows if we like the same stuff? Check the demos and if you want to know the finer points, the manual’s here:
    https://www.igornembrini.com/Download/Delay3000/Manual.pdf

  • It doesn't look like it. I don't see left vs. right controls like you see on many other delays including the several in the Motherload on Tonestack.

  • Basic ping pong is one of the patterns for sure, but if you want a particular left-right thing going on, you’re at the mercy of the design.

Right now I'm using the K7D Tape Delay, Kosmonaut Spatial Delay, Cubasis 3 Delays. These all work great, but sometimes I'm looking for a certain sound I can only get with the settings I was saying. Basically I'm trying to get the same sound I'm getting with my desktop setup. I think maybe the Dubstation2 is going to be the closest to what I'm looking for. Thanks for the manual link, and for your resoponse.

the nembrini delay3000 isn’t set up to access right and left time settings. it has a knob for preset patterns, but there’s no description of what they are. maybe contains ping pong, but still only one time setting. the smear setting is unique. the chorus, and ducking are useful features.

you could use two instances for l/r eighth and quarter, but i’m not sure how delay3000 is set up internally; mono to stereo, stereo to stereo? you would need to ask nembrini for clarification.

    damper? do you mean filter?

the audio damage dubstation has ping pong and separate left and right settings for time
( dual or single mode switch ). you can achieve your requirement of dotted eighth on left and quarter on right. it also has a high pass and low pass filter ( not resonant ). also has delay modulation, not unlike k7d. it can do clean, but also has control for saturation amount, separate input drive, width, reverse, and loop.

i’m a fan of nembrini’s amps and fuzz. high quality. i prefer dubstation to delay3000 for clarity in layout, sound ( clean and dirty ), and flexibility. i’ve used a real roland sde3000 a bit. not for long though, as i preferred the korg sdd 3000 rack.

Sorry meant to say Ducking not Damper. Yes the dubstation seems to be the one I need. If the dubstation had ducking it would be a 10 out of 10. I use the ducking on my desktop delay 99 percent of the time, but maybe for most people it's not important. I'm going for that corporate palm muted guitar sound which I can get easily on my desktop. I think the dubstation is the closest I'm going to get. Thanks for the response.

  • Ping Pong is pattern 1. It’s not possible to set left and right channel differently.

    Great, thanks for the response.

  • FWIW - Delay3000 is awesome! My ears love the sound! I just got TheBoss and love it on drums. Thanks @And_Nembrini

You’re welcome, my bad I saw this thread a bit late.

  • @And_Nembrini just a couple of comments after buying D3k the other day... switching both the delay time and modulation rate to tempo with a single switch surprised me, and some parameter values seem quite coarse (i.e. filter frequency 100Hz steps)?

    Liking the plugin though!

  • And I just realised I should also have mentioned that I’d love a wider range of synced delay values - definitely missing dotted 16th! Of course easily worked around by setting in ms.

    Hi,
    please contact our team here:

    https://www.nembriniaudio.com/pages/contact

every construction proposal is welcome, obviously within the limits imposed by the fact that being our products based on certain hardware, we do not like to deviate too much from the original designs.
    Best,
    Andrea

  • @And_Nembrini will do, but I will try to find the SDE3000 (?) manual first to check that requests align with the functionality of that unit - I’ve no idea if it has syncing.
