Compact USB-C adapter for headphones + data/power with iPad Pro

Can anyone recommend a compact USB-C adapater which allows you to both connect headphones and data/power to the iPad Pro?

A lot of the ones I can find are a bit chunky, which might do, but I'm interested to know if there's anything a bit slicker. Also interested in making sure it works well, has good audio quality (as I understand it, with USB-C the adapter is the DAC), etc.

I wonder if I could use a USB-C splitter with the Apple adapter? Or does the adapter only work connected to the iPad?
