Comments
Yes I do use it this way. I also use cute cut which has some nice bounce transitions. I digitally cut up comic strips and using cute cut layer then with bouncing transitions. Then import into fusion to further edit and finally I import into Touchviz which allow me to manipulate effects in real time.
FlterStack seems ok value.
Thanks to the people here who mentioned Tagtool. I never heard of that one before and I really like its simplicity of loop animation. 👍
Some really good ideas in this topic folks. Appreciate you all chiming in!
@Rodolfo I'd like to see an FX tool "breakdown" of your Loose Loop animation
Desktop tool that looks very promising. Downloading now to have a play with later: https://astrofox.io
Looks very interesting. Thanks for the link. Dare I ask, is this free?
According to the FAQ on the website, it's free.
We do have some interesting tools on ios. But yes, you'll eventually hit a block/limitation.
But it is useful as asset fodder. Build some loops that you can edit, layer, etc.
I recall some glitch apps that I could export gifs or videos...
Databender: https://itunes.apple.com/app/databender/id679473245?mt=8
Glitché: https://itunes.apple.com/app/glitche/id634467171?mt=8
Decim8: https://itunes.apple.com/app/decim8/id392720563?mt=8 (which had a live mode)
Glitch Wizard: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id904640439
I have been diving into Processing and Blender on desktop for visualizations. And pixivisor (on desktop and iOS, can be a useful weapon from our best buddy Alexander Zolotov: https://itunes.apple.com/app/pixivisor/id601279460?mt=8)
Edit / comment: Some of these may not be available anymore. Sorry
Astrofox is completely free: https://astrofox.io/blog/introducing-astrofox
Regarding limits of iOS, it is lacking in some areas. There's nothing like After Effects, for example. But iOS also has some uniquely powerful tools like Tagtool. If I use the best of what iOS has to offer, I'm not hitting any limits except my own.
I was going to mention “fair use” but after a quick search realized that “fair use” is not an actual law, but a legal defense, when charged with copyright infringement.
I did find some good info from this site. Excerpt below link.

Moving Image Archive from Internet Archive
The Moving Image Archive is a service of the Internet Archive. It contains free movies, films, and video, many of which are licensed under one of the Creative Commons licenses or are in the public domain.
Moving Image Research Center
The Moving Image Research Center at the Library of Congress provides a number of collections of early motion pictures, many of which are in the public domain.
There’s also some trippy drawing apps that you could use, basically scribble, and screen record.
I use Wizibel to create footages and edit video with LumaFusion. Here's my example:
Cool, I have Wizibel installed now.
I'm chomping at the bit to buy Luma Fusion but I just know as soon as I do it will go on 50% sale. Any comment?
That's some good info. Not that I really understood it but the first part is determining what the license is for a particular piece of video.
Getting Luma Fusion was the best iOS purchase (video wise) I ever made. Just watch some tutorials to get you started. Not sure about their sale schedule.
Good catch! Pretty basic, but works well and is easy to learn. I was doing some good stuff within the first 30 minutes. I've tried some of the others mentioned in the thread, and the learning curve was steep enough that it stopped being fun, at least for now. This is fun. But not if you don't like working without a manual.
No beeple-love?!

or Prelinger?

I wanted to suggest these two but went down a rabbit hole. So basically this is more for me a listing and and collection of links. Maybe someone will enjoy it too. But you don’t have to

I like the Glitch Clip app's integration with Giphy. Searching for and adding clips is a cinch.
Is LumaFX redundant if you have LumaFusion?
Yes
Great, thank you.
Here is something I did in Luma Fusion using key frames. Wish I could do this in real-time using a combination of audio and midi input.
Nice track and visuals 👍🏼😎
@LeeB 🙏🏻🙏🏻
+1. It makes it so damn fast and easy. Sad that the future of the app is in question, given the dev's posts here.
@lukesleepwalker Just heard about Glitch Clip. I want to get it but......
Yeah, it's a really fun and fast tool to use, but I do fear that it'll be abandonware.
Maybe I should try this simpler approach? 😂
Like a David Byrne PowerPoint.
