The one I use currently is a power supply to give car battery a boost. It was a gift from my father. I’m sure you can find better and cheaper.
If you upgrade to an iPad Pro, you can power the third generation Focusrite Scarlett products up to 4i4 via bus power from USB-C.
Also, just so you're aware, this does not/will not support Catalina either. I had to replace mine with an M-Audio Air 192/4.
I’m not sure if it applies to this model, but Chris Randall had some gripes about the MixPre-10 for iOS production, which he explained in this video:
I’m just a windows guy and still on 8. Looks like they have 10 drivers so it should last my remaining desktop years. If it stops working on iOS that would be a shame.
IRig Pro I/O has all of this including new Windows 10 drivers, great battery life, midi interface and powerful HP amp. Works really well, great sound quality and super compact. 125 € average price, and you get various apps including full Sampletank 4 SE desktop version.

There is also a new dual input Duo IO version.

Wasn’t aware of that..shame :-/ .. it could be one of the best interfaces around for portable iOS production, were it not for those issues.
I was just reading on the sound devices site that firmware 5.0 now supports the use of USB hubs, which might address one of the issues Chris was talking about. I’d be curious to hear from him whether anything has changed.
Now to throw an oddball question out there... Which of these devices also work well on Linux?
(Linux is my main desktop OS). 🙂
I'm quite sure, if it works on IOS it does so on Linux. If any functionality relies on some sort of control-panel, you'll obviously loose that function (e.g. iconnect audio 2+: you'll need a mac/IOS/win device to do the patching, but once that's done it's fine).
I've used quite a few from Iconnectivity, Focusrite, Behringer, ESI, - the ones that worked on IOS did so on Linux.
As always - ymmv...
cheers
Good to know! Thanks!
Thanks everyone for the awesome info!!! Much appreciation to all!!! Thanks!!
