Just shows you how insane America is.

Oh, anybody can run. Every cycle we get dozens of joke candidates. Even one that likes fishsticks.

    Kim K for FLOTUS

This is weird. No fan of the Kardashians but actually... I could get with Kim as FLOTUS. Reckon she’d crush it.

Does the Constitution allow for Hobbits to be First Lady...?

Does it allow for gay fish to be president?

    Good point

  • I know Americans can take their politics very seriously, but goodness, what a laugh for the rest of the world!

  • This is totally a publicity stunt for a new album release, he hasn’t done any of the advance work to get on the ballot in each state so please don’t give any credence or attention to this as he deserves none. He’s always been a joke both
as a human and “musician”. IMNSHO

Its not serious and anybody thinking he’ll A) actually run or B ) he could win.... the joke is on them. Kanye likes attention and this is a cheap way of getting it. He’s trolling and people are falling for it.

  • I mean, would it really be all that different than reality TV star with an equal number of credentials (zero) running for president?

  • Better than the original if you ask me...

  • Kayne is not becoming president, because it’s not mentioned in The Simpsons.

    Thank you for that.

  • Apparently he’s going to do something about the implanted chips that will be part of a coronavirus vaccine...

  • The choice is easy. Kanye is the only option if you're true anti-racist. Biden and Trump are both cis gender old white men and we know that we can't trust them because they will prolong the white hell we're living in. Kanye is the only one who can bring us together again.

  • Whoever wins, we lose.
They’re not really in charge. They follow orders from the same masters.
They are the illusion of choice.

At one time I would have disagreed with you and offered you a tinfoil hat. These days, I’m not ready to put the hat on (but I do have it standing by), but one thing that Trump has done is he has taken what was once a more secretive underbelly and really exposed it and shoved it in our faces. I think I prefer my politicians dirty behind closed doors like they’ve always been.

So I guess, in one respect, he did do what he said. He exposed corruption. And then the exposure emboldened those involved instead of embarrassing them.

But, I don’t believe he started it and I don’t believe another candidate will end it. I wish we could start again with a clean slate, because the “Left” and the “Right” are both lost. If we had less individualism in society and more actions that enhanced the well being of others, that would be a start, instead of having wrong/right, if you don’t agree you’re my enemy. I don’t mean socialism or communism, I just mean awareness that we are all part of a whole human organism and is good for us all if we’re all the best we can be.

Before I fall off of this soapbox, I’ll just say that I’m not a member of either party and in life in general, I don’t like to vote or make decisions a certain way because I’m “supposed to,” I just want to learn information and make a choice I feel is intelligent. I think I’ve realized now though that a vote for an independent candidate actually weakens the system, which is a shame, and elections really are a buy in system. There’s too much in the news about what each candidate and party is raising, all to make ads and hold events where they try to figure out what their audience wants to hear in order to grab their vote.

I wonder what would happen if someone had a good idea, stated it, people listened, thought about it, had respectful discourse based on what would be best for the country/ state/ county/ town, etc, voted on it, enacted it, and followed through?

Ok, had to type that, glad I did, and whether one agrees or disagrees, that’s ok, I’m not out to force my view or opinion on anyone and I think disagreement leading to decisions and change that benefits people is a good thing! If you read it, thanks. If you didn’t, thanks for at least being on a forum where we can respectfully discuss things that are weighing, even though the forum really is about making music.

    Kanye probably hopes to split some of the Democratic vote to help his boy out. Not going to happen;

I’d be surprised if someone like that even manages to get on the ballot in any swing state that matters— plus he’d more likely split off a tiny portion of the Trump vote, even he did.

Don’t know who he is, but we have an American Boothead.

  • As much as I would find his candidacy a hugely entertaining shit-show, I think this is the worst time for America to be playing around with politics. It's in dire need of solid leadership right now.

The problem (or not) is that a lot of Americans believe that Donald Trump indeed is a solid leader.

Indeed. Perhaps one positive thing to come out of the Covid pandemic is a better understanding of just how inept and irresponsible Trump has been in the role. But I’m not holding my breath. Especially when I read about this new ‘anti-masker’ nonsense.

Yes, that’s the scariest thing. This isn’t a disagreement with political ideas as much as seeing that he is thoroughly incompetent and has narcissistic personality disorder at the very least, and quite possibly antisocial personality disorder (or what was called sociopath). Many people knew this before he was elected, but some are learning now. And some, for whatever reason, can’t see it.

Im not a fan of Mike Pence’s politics, but I don’t get the impression that he is a person with the same personal issues. So there is another reason why Trump remains in office, but I’m not sure what that reason is, because it’s pretty obvious that those that work with him can’t stand him. He is doing something for them though that is enriching them personally.

It’s troubling that out leadership isn’t the slightest bit interested in leading. It seems it is 100% about what they can gain personally. That’s not totally new, but it wasn’t as large a majority before. I just hope that some changes happen and we can at least have a clear direction as a country, even though not everyone will agree on what the direction is. But that’s always been true and the country functioned.

    Scary times.

  • Well, bad news, but it appears as if Kanye West has dropped out of the presidential race.

But, in all seriousness, people around him have stated that there are worried about his behavior being a manic episode due to his bipolar disorder and if that’s so (wouldn’t be a stretch) then I hope he is able to get whatever he needs get it back under control.

  • “I don’t often run for President, but when I do, I damn-well make sure i’m wearing my SECURITY bullet-proof vest!”

  • “On the outside of course!

Wouldn’t want to take a chance on damaging my $5,000 vintage Versace T-Shirt!!!”

  • Ah fuck, he really is completely nuts. Seems like that’s becoming a prerequisite to becoming a politician in the US since we now have an aging baby “running” things currently.

  • It would be nice if issues and topics of real importance received as much press as Kanye West's ludicrous exercise in fame whoring has. West & Donald Trump are no different, their greed & need for attention is paramount.

Instead of doing something for the BLM movement or using his relationship with Trump in a positive way, West saw the news cycle dominated by the election & the pandemic, so he chose to play candidate. Pulling another 'Taylor Swift at the VMA's' style bumrush during a race that is ¾ of the way over is indicative of his narcissistic egomania run amok.

He didn't take the time to cultivate a campaign tackling real issues that effect everyday, middle class American's. He's thrown some money around and made a jackass out of himself. Like clockwork, the media has covered every minute of the insanity and like they did with Trump they're providing free campaign advertising and slowly legitimizing a ridiculous goof. Stop humoring him.

  • Hope Kanye isn't planning a NYC clothes shopping spree for his presidential run:

Donald Trump claimed he could "stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody" and not "lose any voters."

Trump "doubles-down" on shots between the eyes. That vest ain't gonna do you no good! 😏
