PPG wave generator AND wave mapper?
I have wave generator, which is a phenomenal app, what advantage would wave mapper pose?
Will any user compare these products for me. Maybe, someone who owns both apps could give me any advantages of doing so? Interappability (new word) or something like that?

I have them both, and hate them. They just rub me the wrong way, and make me annoyed, so I never use them. I don't like the sounds they make, or else I might put up with the annoyance.
So many better designed, better sounding apps put there.
I love Wavemapper for the ease of sound creation. Mapping effects, wavetables, instruments etc by drag and drop couldn't be easier. It has like 90 sound resources to map. Decent Arpeggiator, and schematic touch keyboard that can be extended.
I like wave mapper for its warm and deep sounds and ease of use.
I prefer WaveMapper. It's easier for me to get the sounds I want in it than WG.

I understand why most prefer wavemapper for ease of use, but not having that app, I was wondering if I would be missing out on sound sculpting ability vs wave generator.
I had also seen something about being able to take sounds from one into the other, say, come up with a quick sound in wave mapper then send it to wave generator for further tweaking. I'm not sure on this "interappability" hence my original question, does anybody have experience with this?
Haven't tried it but do know it was included in update.
@WMWM The timing of your question for me is funny. I've been digging deep into Wavemapper the past few weeks with the aim of eventually doing some kind of advanced tutorial. I got WaveGenerator this morning for exactly that reason...to research the 'Interappability' as you put it, between the apps. It'll probably take me a few weeks to get it up and out, so I couldn't really give you an answer myself just yet.
I do believe though, that you can create what PPG terms 'complex' paths in WG and use these in WM. It is only possible to create 'linear' paths in WM.
WaveMapper is capable of HUGE sounds. Parameter changes can be accessed very easily via the 'program map' but if you like to get down deep, WM has real depth available for modulation and sound control.

@Synthandson I have some of the Alba Ecstasy animoog sounds and you are right, they are well done. Is there a wave generator set you would recommend?
@SpookyZoo I look forward to your advanced tutorial on this as I am confident it will have valuable information. I also find the coincidence funny as I have been contemplating this for at least 2 weeks. I am on a tight budget and have not purchased wave mapper. A sale would be very welcome and appreciated Mr. Palm.
on a tight budget I wouldn't necessarily recommend WaveMapper if you already have WaveGenerator. For wavetable friends like me it was a must.
So you have both Phil? Can you add an answer to the questions I have (see above). I am going without coffee for a month to offset this purchase, still got a bit to go, should be just in time for SpookyZoo's tutorial, oddly enough.
Anybody have the Mac/pc version of this? If so can you give a comparison to the ipad version?
Hey @WMWM It might help to know what you would like to find in Wavemapper. With the brief introduction I've had with Wavegenerator today, I like the way I can visualise the wavetable and manipulate it in WG. Having owned WM first, I'm finding things in WM make more sense now I have seen what is going on in WG.
I guess the sound map and ease of changing the sounds is the big difference. But maybe you like to 'program' your sounds more, like in WG.
I'm still digging and learning myself so hopefully I will come to understand it all soon, to make the tut.
Also, Wolfgang has 3 or 4 Wavemapper vids on Youtube. In case you weren't aware.
I have both and as an overarching comment, I like the presets on the WaveMapper better but WG has remarkable control over everything and being able to create new waves from photos is a really cool feature. My Christmas tree made a great jaggedly noisy wave.

In wave mapper I'd be looking for the ability to quickly come up with a unique sound, a starting point if you will, and hopefully get it into wave generator through the app switching feature @mgmg4871 had mentioned was included in the last update. The only reference I can find to this feature is a vague reference. I'm not sure if the sounds are transferred between apps during this switch, like an "open in".
BTW, Largo looks great.

Hey @WMWM, Yeah, I saw this but because I hadn't got waveGenerator until recently I wasn't sure what was new about the implementation. WG had an inter-app wavetable pasting update last October...but if that wasn't with WM....what was it pasting, and from where?
Still a daily examination with both apps, but early thoughts on the pros and cons... With WG you are limited to sharing 1 wavetable over the 3 Oscillators, albeit with different paths. With WM, you can choose 3 completely separate sound sources.
The sound map is a very quick way to generate the starts of different sounds. You'll still want to tinker with mods deeper down.
You can turn your audio samples into wavetables in WM and export them to WG.
So as for your original question.. I do think the apps compliment each other quite well, especially with the new 'interappability'. If the opportunity for 3 sound resources is a big bonus for you then you'll be happy. Everything else mod wise you will be familiar with, even though it's spread over 4 main tabs. I like that I have both apps to function together, but you'll have to be prepared for that Brand New App feeling you get with a new purchase won't be quite as strong, but hopefully you'll like introducing WG to its brother. They're both great apps.

Did you get Wavemapper? If not, are there any aspects of it in particular you're hoping to see highlighted?
@SpookyZoo I think any info you could offer on these would be great. They have fantastic sound capabilities and versatility, as you yourself are well aware of.
Its rather funny, some of the first ios synths are still my favorites and I still have not tapped their full potential...yet.

@SpookyZoo I realized I didn't fully answer your question, yes, I received Wavemapper recently, easily in my top 3 synths.
It's a great sounding app, but I'm rediscovering all of its frustrations again too. Particularly in the creation and sharing of custom wavetables.
If you like wavetable you will like the new MitoSynth from the maker of Grain Science, I'm beta testing it now and it's really powerful...
Yeah, heard some great teasers so far. Grain Science is super cool too.
