@Krupa i tried, gave up, but ithink factory presets (apart from saturn1) are the same as on desktop

I’ll give it a go tomorrow, otherwise I’ll copy what I did in the demo into the iOS and compare...

those darn pigs! glad they are waiting a few days

@Krupa looks like the only way is to jailbreak the device to get into that space...not doing that to my ipad pro.. guess we have to dial in the pots and numbers manually.. no big deal as a “best practices” thing for me..old school.
    from FF forums;
‘ When creating the iOS preset system, I've looked into this because it would of course be very nice if you can share presets between Mac/PC and iOS. However, as far as I know there is no way currently for an AUv3 plug-in on iOS to have its files show up in the Files app. Only apps have the ability to appear in the Files app. Of course each AUv3 plug-in is contained in its own app, but the plug-in can't access the public files area from the app. So my conclusion was that this is -at the moment- not possible unfortunately.

    Cheers,

  • Ah, that's unfortunate. I was wondering if there was going to be a repeat of the situation whereby FF synth desktop presets could be imported into Auria Pro. No great issue, though.

  • God I just spent an hour fiddling with Timeless in Auria...please let this be the next port. Even better if it’s an update

    +1

  • I wish I were savvy enough to take advantage of these apps. Especially the bundle on sale for $89. It looks incredible.

Having the tools is the first step.

  • Damn, that cheap price it offered me for the bundle yesterday must have been a glitch. Price is higher again today, damn! Should have gone for it then.... Bloody app store is beyond a joke with the messed up displays of pricing!

  • Edit:

Oh no, a quick refresh and it's back to the low price again! Weird as I had tried a refresh a few mins ago and it hadn't changed. I just pulled the trigger on it and it went through for about 40 quid! Bargain of the century.

Gutted, I didn’t even dare look, think I’m still on the nembrini hook after a day playing with Saturn and IR cabs, can get great results but it’s tricky, not quite the same and is quite cpu heavy on my old iPad Pro v1...

  • @Gavinski Did you do that swipe down and then up again thing?
Never mind.. I see you got it working + got them.. for what you actually get, it’s a steal..
    Enjoy the new toys!

  • Yup, the swipe thing! Cheers bro

  • not toys FFs :# B)

  • I bought Saturn 2 and Pro-C, spent my lunchtime playing with them and then immediately bit the bullet and bought the full bundle. A fair investment, but one that I think I'll enjoy long after the price is forgotten.

I hope they release Volcano for iOS, would love a filter that features their XLFOs and other modulators.

Just left a message over at FF HQ letting them know that Eventide found a workaround using import/export via the Files app.

I use the use iCloud for all my Eventide apps. This way I can easily keep all my presets in sync between my iPad and iPhone.

But yeah, the Files.app implementation for Import & Export is a pretty standard thing and it's strange it's taken ages before developers started add support for a standard iOS feature (ie. the Document Picker) for file exchange :)

You make a lot of sense @Samu

It must be tough finding the mental space for all of the things, for a lot of developers. They'll have to choose which crocodiles to wrestle, and when. Still, I do get triggered by the words 'not possible'.

  • Is it possible to sync saved AUM sessions between 2 devices?

Yeah, it's kinda annoying at times...

But 'basics' should be import & export :)

The 'iTunes File Sharing' has traumatized many but when enabled for an app the apps 'Documents' folder can be made visible for the Files.app. (The folder needs at least one file to be visible, with no files in it its hidden).

AUv3's are 'sandboxed' but they can still use the Document Picker to import files and if sharing between the plug-in and stand-alone app is needed, developers can add a 'storage container' to share files between the AUv3 and stand-alone app...
(AudioShare as an example uses a storage container to share files between AUM and AudioShare and to share files to other apps it also uses a FileProvider extension).

This is not any 'secret' information. It's all there in the WWDC sessions from the past 3-4 years :D

  • Is sidechain inside AUM possible with Pro Q3 now?

    This is encouraging.

[re: cross-platform preset sharing - I'm not sure what the state of things currently is with sidechain routing in AUM @david_2017]

Warning - this is probably a somewhat off-topic comment, but I have quite strong conflicting feelings about sales like these.

On a purely selfish level, I enjoy paying less for things than other people. Yes, I do realise this is my ego talking here. On a realistic level, I completely understand that these sales are usually triggered in response to sales data I do not have the privilege of seeing - and I assume from a sales perspective that they must work. I also understand that fluctuating prices have a powerful psychological effect on buyers who 'hedge their bets' and sit on their money until they feel the price is right (or a short-term sale may not return for a long time)

However, I'm not sure I feel comfortable with the effect that an 'unstable' pricing market has on buyers. Let me explain...

    • Sales which occur within a month of release punish early adopters and loyal supporters. Not a good look.
    • Sales can also undermine our sense of the product's 'full price'. We lose trust for the prices we see published. In the worst cases, we lost confidence in the quality (and longevity) of the products themselves.
    • It messes with your head when some companies offer intro prices, whilst others reward patience with regular sales.

    So what is my conclusion?

As much as it might hurt my wallet slightly, I feel that app developers should probably avoid regular sales and stick with stable pricing. I think they cause more offence to existing customers and brand damage than they cause joy.

    Rant over.

I haven't studied the issue, but it doesn't seem like a problem. I think most people buy something because they want the product at that moment, and the price is right at that moment. If they want the product, but the price isn’t right at that moment, they wait for a sale. The buyer who wants it now and gets value out of it sooner, pays more for that advantage. The buyer who waits for a sale has to be more patient, but enjoys the advantage of lower cost. The seller makes more sales by offering both options. And when there’s no resale value involved, it’s even less important to be concerned about allowing the price to fluctuate. Of course there will be customers who are offended or annoyed that they paid more when they could have paid less, but I’m not aware of any evidence that this should compel the app developer to adopt a different strategy.

  • How hard on the cpu is Saturn 2? My only iPad devices are an air 1 and a mini 2 so I was wondering if I could even use it on those

  • edited July 2020

@Fingolfinzzz I don't have numbers for you at the moment, and I'm using it on an iPad Pro, but basically it varies from preset to preset. On some, it's reasonably light on the cpu, on others it is heavy, and if you use the super high quality setting it is extremely heavy, but in general that would not be needed.

  • edited July 2020

@Gavinski awesome thank you, yeah I usually don’t use too much modulation with their plugins so I’ll probably be able to work with it. Time to spend some more money!

Edit: holy shit this is unreal how good it is
