Soundcloud automastering - app alternatives?
Hi all,
As some may have noticed, SoundCloud, where I host my noodlings, has recently added a new auto-mastering option, at a price per track or monthly subscription price.
I’m not keen on either of those, so as a fairly cloth-eared and non technical person, does anyone have suggestions for apps that would have a similar effect for a one off price?
My ideal would be a big magic button that I hit once and it just makes my track sound marvellous with no further input from me. If that proves not to be available (!) my next best option would be something that offers a selection of presets that hide all the complicated compression/limiting/eq-ing as far away from my fat fingers as possible. When I attempt these tasks manually, I tend to end up just making everything sound worse.

Grand Finale sounds like a good candidate. It definitely has a bunch of presets that produce a decent master, but depending on the dynamics of your tracks you might still want to fiddle with the compression a bit.
Grand Finale or Lurssen
Hi guys,
Final Touch by Positive Grid gave me good result for mastering tracks.

TB Barricade is another nice option but not really a one button solution. It has presets though.
+1 Final Touch
I haven't been impressed with the automatic mastering tools so far, though a lot may depend on the style of music.
My ultimate test for a one-click solution is: Push the button multiple times. If I can hear any difference after the first press then it doesn't "know what it is doing".
Would also say Grand Finale, and Barkfilter.

Hi all,
Thanks for the great suggestions. I think I’ll go with @drcongo’s suggestion of Klevgrand Grand Finale, it has a price point I’m ok with, a feature set which looks right, and sounds like a good fit for my workflow.
