Using Loopback Feature (on the EVO 4) with Pandora or other music app.
This question has been asked before but I am having trouble actually implementing it. I love to jam on my guitar along with Pandora or other music source apps on my iPad. The problem is that there is no way to adjust the volume of these apps separately from the main volume of the iPad. It is difficult to mix the two together to get a nice balance between the two. Primarily I need to be able to lower the volume of the music source app a bit. A simple solution that works is the Belkin Rockstar splitter along with my iPhone as the input. I can then adjust the volume separately using the iPhone volume.
But I would like to try doing this all on the iPad so that I can mix the volume of Pandora and my guitar separately just on the iPad. Is it possible? I have acquired an EVO 4 interface which has internal loopback channels. The loopback channels show up in AUM and Audiobius as channels 3 and 4 but I can't figure out how to actually use them.
Any help in understanding how this might work and how to set things up in AUM/Audiobus is greatly appreciated.

You could run Pandora on the iPhone at full volume, output from a HP output into the EVO Ch 1+2. Add your guitar on EVO 3+4. Input 1+2 on an AUM channel, 3+4 on a second AUM channel, output both AUM channels to EVO 1+2. Use AUM faders on the 2 AUM channels to mix them, and monitor your EVO 1+2 outputs to hear the mix.
iPhone still required, but all mix adjustments happen on the iPad in AUM.
So, kinda only halfway there if you are wanting to eliminate a second device completely.
But, this will get you to be able to easily balance the mix levels on one device, at least.
Thanks for the response. I did try using my iPhone and this works, but the input is only mono from the iPhone since there are only 2 physical input channels and one is being used by the guitar. Nice to have the faders on the iPad rather than using the iPhone volume control. I would like to figure out how to route the system audio back into the iPad so I could drop the iPhone but I can't figure out how to send the system audio back into the loop.
I have also been trying to figure out how to use the loopback feature of the EVO 4 in iOS without any luck. I’ve tried all configurations of channels 1+2 and 3+4 in AUM to no avail. Unfortunately I think that the loopback feature in the EVO only works on a computer 😞 Hoping someone else can find a way though??!
Still nothing on this matter?
I had the same experience as @marmakin
Got it!
