  • 100% agree with Simon. ACP and record in is a given, and I will only buy if one of the two is included. can't stay chained to iTunes now that we're on the bus.

This seems to be a development of Voice Keyboard and Voice Keyboard HD, neither of which have got much in the way of decent reviews on the App Store. I can do better with SampleWiz samples loaded into Geo Synth (Audiobus support for Geo currently in development). Actually, I think Thumbjam can do everything this app is trying to do, but with better import options and vastly more features.

  • Thanks for the heads up folks. Saved me $5. Im curious how some of these apps get on the Bus but others are nowhere to be found.

  • I think a ios / ab sampler with timeshifting is worth a try. No other alternatives at this moment. Still waiting for a proper review....

  • Oh...
Comments are worth a read to.

  • I'm gonna do a full video review later today, still playing with it but so far it seems ok, no Audio copy or paste but i'm working out a workaround, should be on youtube this evening or in about 3 to 5 hours. Anyway i'll post here..

  • OK Here is the review and demo of VoKEY. Hope it' of some help..

  • So if I sample Barry Gibb I end up with Barry White?

  • Yeah pretty much, I dont get the same problem with Samplewiz..or other hardware samplers, you know it came be overcome by transposing your midi keyboard up or down depending on were VoKEY decides to place your original sampled note, but it is a pain...however if its just fx or drum hits it's ok.

  • Indeed.
    May stick with samplewiz.
Like what your doing by the way.
    Video looks clearer!
    Cutting back on the cigarettes?

  • Thanks, and yeah NO CIGARETTES WERE SMOKED DURING THE MAKING IF THIS VIDEO. Just had a scary thought why would you want to sample Barry Gibb lol..

  • Find he works well in a harmony
Just between Minnie Ripperton and Nancy Wilson...

  • Yep just had a nice message from the dev, all this is good news and he is right there is no need to trim the samples which is a very nice feature, I'll test the sampling note A later and repost but I suspect he's right..

  • Vokey 2.1 is out, which pretty much solves everything written about here. Solves it and then expands on it, so you have complete control of pitch mapping.. including setting the reference pitch of the recorded sample. It also is quite an extensive update, with sample layering and zoning. Per layer 6 stage Envelopes, LFOs, and complete control of MIDI signals to map dynamics to the sampling engine. Definitely worth a second look, as it's nothing like the first version.

  • What is the difference between the lite and full versions - it was not obvious to me from the descriptions.

  • How about the looping/crossfading for samples? I never noticed these capabilities in this app. Does this app have those abilities? Also, how does one export or import patches for sharing? Also, how about importing sounds--are you still only able to get sound into the app through recording directly from the device? I had read that these things didn't exist or were nearly non-existent, and I have held off on buying this because of these concerns. I'd like to know from those who have it if these issues are addressed in the app. Thanks! :-)

  • Looping: Yes it does. Also ACP, WebShare arbitrary layers and zones, velocity cross-fading, Patches don't know, will ask Terry. He has plans too, and is very prompt and detailed in his responses to questions. I am also wanting AB output slot, but my main use of this, once I build my sets, is as a synth in AB Input, and most oof my sources are .wav files anyway.
