Dear Synth One, I wish you were AU3!

Dear Synth One!

I never told you how happy I am to be with you.

There's no other One like you, I swear.

But yet I have an only wish. If you could speak AU3, we could be so much more.

Please don't make me wait anymore.

Sincerely in deepest admiration

Nuno

  • MPE and auv3

    Promises promises promises

  • It's free, open source and entirely developed by volunteers. So with that said if anyone here knows how to code please add AUv3. I'm sure there's just a switch someone has to flip in the code 😉

  • It's one of my favorite synths, it's so fast at getting me to a fun and usable sound.

But if it ever gets the AU upgrade, I hope it's better implemented than in other Audiokit apps.

Currently Retro Piano, FM Player 2, and D1 are unstable in Nanostudio 2, often requiring special treatment to ensure smooth use. Even then, crashes feel imminent.

Truly love those apps though, just hope the AUv3 implementation gets better.

I think that's an NS2 issue more than an Audiokit issue. I tried NS2 a few months back and I had all kinds of crashes and wasn't able to render tracks that included many different AUv3 apps from different vendors. Have you tried the Audiokit apps in other hosts? I have Retro Piano, D1 and Bass 808 and I can use them in AUM and Zenbeats with no issues

  • Same. They take a long time to load, but then run fine in AUM and Zenbeats for me. I've barely used them in NS2 but can't say I've had any problems with them in that light usage.

  • Me too...but AUv3 seems to be the Achilles heel for Audiokit.

  • one of my absolute fav synths ever. but i don’t use it much cuz of no iaa state save and inconvenience of not being an auv3. i hope everyday to see it in my updates list! i want to put it on everything .. like salt n pepper

I’ve even been having trouble loading 808, it doesn’t load in AUM on first try but always does on second. I much as I love AK the apps also seem to be high on DSP/CPU as well.

  • Will Synth One ever get AUv3? I’m another that has been waiting literally years. It’s the only one out of my favourite synths that still can’t talk the language of AUv3. Is it not possible that the other Audiokit synth makers (i.e. FM2, D1) can help out here?

    Please……

Is there any hope in this ? I swear this synth sounds amazing. The uI is great too. It’s just missing AUV3! I will pay!

  • I think there might still be hope. @AnalogMatthew talks about work on an update for SynthOne in a post from a few weeks back relating to King Of Bass.

  • Yes, there is hope. I've started from scratch and it's a big job.
So it may take awhile, it will be a free update if I can make it happen!

Don't hesitate to charge something if the app is being completely overhauled. No one here wants you to go broke.

It’s an awesome synth! Some of the sounds are amazing and the filter sounds great!
I’d pay easy 25 bucks for it as an AUV3. You deserve to be paid for your great hard work. Maybe call it Synth Two.

Well, something within the current range for a similar rompler or synth would be entirely reasonable.

    Absolutely +1
