Arturia iSEM...Bluetooth keyboard?

Hi,
I cannot see any connection option inside iSEM for Bluetooth midi.
I have a microKEY air keyboard to connect but can’t....

If I connect through another app first, no problem...

Is there a way just inside iSEM?

Thanks....

  • You can use Midimittr for this. Works like a charm. I just tried it.

@IOSSOS - iSEM doesn’t have an internal Bluetooth midi dialog. As you say, as long as you connect with another app first it’ll work fine. Some older apps just haven’t added the BT dialog. I keep the Free Korg BT Midi Connect App around for those rare occasions when I’m not just using an app like iSEM as an AU in a host anyway. It works with any BT Midi controller, not just Korg products.

I presume you have some reason for not using it as an AU inside a host.

  • Thanks wim....yes better to use as an AU.....

  • Also....mid wheel in midi keyboard doesn’t match mod wheel on I pad...when mod wheel modulation parameters edited...

  • Voice programmer, when on, doesn’t move in consecutive steps when playing in chord mode or possibly when you play on midi keyboard polyphonically.....

Balance between the oscillators...no volume control on main screen......I’m probably a bit thick on this one?!

Nevertheless an easy to use and great sounding app.....

Yep. And with the side benefit of spending lots of quality time with your loved ones while it loads. :D

  • Load it in Audiobus and route Bluetooth to it in midi mixer.

  • Also setting knobs to zero settings in middle, and especially pitch to default..no numbers on dials......

  • @IOSSOS Have you read the manual, http://downloads.arturia.net/products/isem/manual/iSEM_Manual_EN.pdf ? It answers several of your questions/concerns. You can also find the original Oberheim SEM manual at https://encyclotronic.com/synthesizers/oberheim/sem-r221/. It's an interesting read, time capsule from almost 50 years ago (1974)! It even tells you how to rewire the original hardware.

  • Thanks uncledave...yes read it...thanks....
I think SynthMaster One likely to get more of my time....but still a reasonable app....

A numeric system in dials would be good...like a 0 in the middle...?

    Cheers...

Agreed. I guess they remained true to the original panel design. So you basically turn the knobs and see what you get. Don't need no stinkin' numbers ;)
