BM3 Bible

Hi,
If I’m not mistaken..isn’t there supposed to be a release of this in 2020?
Thought I read that someone was working on this in the Intua forum somewhere..
Like the ultimate BM3 guide...possible a purchase...?
Any ideas?
Thanks..

@tk32 is the forum member who is working on the BM3 bible. He has shared several teasers which looked very, very good indeed.

    He means me.

I started working on a guide to BM3 ages ago.

Life and other commitments have slowed me down considerably. And to be quite frank, the lack of news about the future development of BM3 has certainly damaged my motivations to get over the hump and finish this damned thing.

Release as a public beta? The full version could then be an IAP?

    /joking, mostly

  • @wim I think you mean @tk32 ;)

Considering there's been no 'major' development with BM3 for the past year or so the momentum to finish the book might have slowed down or maybe there are some other life things that postpone it.

It doesn't really take a rocket scientist to grasp BM3. Just give it some time and explore it...
...but then again some might not have the patience to explore an app and/or just prefer to have the everything served on a silver platter...

BM3 is long overdue for an overhaul to fix 'stuff' that is broken or malfunctioning and I'm personally pretty annoyed by all the 'workarounds' that need to be used to work around various issues.

But still there is nothing even remotely close to BM3 on iOS when it comes to sampling...

    Cheers!

  • Glad to see there is still interest in both BM3 and my guide.

Perhaps I'll dust the files off and see if I can get a public beta version going ;)

I've already written about 15,000 words.

I can fully understand this. But, are you working on other projects at this moment?

@tk32 Why not make this a joint effort, with different sections each edited by a forum member who feels most comfortable with that part of the app?
We'd only have to agree on a documentation format and who does what.

The simplest approach would be plain text or some markup text and images/screenshots that you will be able to merge into the master document easily.

Small steps towards our bible of dreams - only if enough forum members are ready to provide their own part, that is.

  • Nice idea @rs2000

I think my current plan is to split the guide into 3 volumes:

    • Vol 1 - Sampling
    • Vol 2 - Arranging
    • Vol 3 - Mixing

I'm going to finish and release Vol 1 and then perhaps look for some help finishing the other two parts.

    @tk32 Cool!
And many, many thanks for your excellent work so far. 🤝
I also appreciate your visual approach a lot.

  • Great job tk32.
I think I know most things about the app....but no doubt you know more than me!
We appreciate all that you’re doing..

It is so powerful...with it’s sampling layers and LFOs and automation and few exploiting its endless potential....

    In BM4—-whenever it happens!

Would hope for recording from scenes to song.
    Better transient detection.
Drag and drop to copy pads.
    Better fx.
Lazy chop sampling...while sampling a button to change to another pad without stopping sampling audio....

    Cheers....
