Developer Appreciation
I'd like to give some recognition and credit to all the devs making our iOS productions possible. They catch a lot of flacc but want to assure them that they are appreciated and that we support them now and going forward! Feel free to tag your favorite devs and let them know that you love what their doing for our amazing iOS production community!
Keep the shade out please! Thanks!
Comments
I second that notion.
🙏
Off the top of my head and going on the apps I use most:
@Michael @mifki @giku_beepstreet @j_liljedahl @sinosoidal @sonosaurus @Orville @4Pockets @SevenSystems @davis_korgrd
And the devs for Apesoft/Amazing Noises, Eventide and XunVos
Huge appreciation for your dedication, imagination and ability to tolerate the Audiobus forum.
And apologies to those that I have missed. Not intentional, simply the result of a poor memory.
Edit: Buggeration! I knew it, @brambos every tune I make includes at least one of your plugins, usually 5-10.
Too many to count. There are very few apps I've got that I haven't enjoyed at least to some extent. 🙏🙏
Me, I'm thankful to all of the already mentioned developers and also Matt from BlipInteractive for making Nanostudio and Nanostudio 2.
Thank you!
Too many to count. I love them all and appreciate their work greatly.
Thank you @Jocphone!
I made this thread because we are all going through trying times. A unique time in history that will be remembered for ages. In our day to day lives, it can be easy to express our disinterest in things, request more and forget how lucky we truly are. The developers are people just like all of us consumers, producers and artists and we all need some encouragement and appreciation from time to time. Many of them get little compensation and generally do this for fun, to inspire and to give back to the music community of today.
With that being said, I'd like to kick this off with @Michael. A pioneer in connectivity on iOS. With the creation of Audiobus, you developed an essential app that gave people the ability to connect the many pieces of a system that was in its infancy. Not only that, but you also created this very forum to connect developers, producers, consumers and artists to share ideas, interact and show their passion for music. I salute you sir!
Next @j_liljedahl. AUM is a staple on iOS and has sparked many creative ideas and is currently a playground for most experiments. Audioshare is another essential app that filled a huge gap on this platform.
@LFS. Cubasis 3. My one and only DAW love. I've tried them all except Auria. And I can say without hesitation or a doubt that this is the one for me. Clean, stable and inspiring. The team did us a solid.
@analog_matt. The creation of Audiokit is a very innovative and amazing way to give to the community. We are lucky to have a developer and team with your passion and dedication. Bass 808, Digital D1, and Retro Piano are some of my absolute favorite apps. Every mix/experiment has AT LEAST one of these in it. Thank you so very much.
@danielfromcodalabs. Audiokit L7 looper is the only looper on the platform for me. This with AB3 have been boons in my exploration into melody making.
@brambos. Ruismaker is an amazing drum synth and actually helped me complete my first beat, helped me understand midi looping and I suspect will be the basis for drum kits that I look forward to making. You continue to innovate and bring essential tools to the platform with things like Rozeta, WOOTT and Perforator to name a few.
@DJB for bringing some of the best and most affordable mastering fx to the platform. I often find myself grabbing one of these (usually Reelbus 😁)
@ElliottGarage. With the creation of sEGments, I have found my solution to drum rolls, and chopping my loops made in L7. This is a wonderful and much needed addition to the platform. I call it Serato for iOS.
@davis_korgrd. Gadget, iM1, Oddysei, iMono/Poly. Just amazingly lush sounds. Some of the very best. I can hardly believe my ears when I play these.
@FredAntonCorvest your apps are one of a kind. You filled a space and firmly hold it with such amazing precision and elegance. Your chorus and shimmer are held in high esteem and your Maximizer is a true beast.
@GospelMusicians. PSP and NSK2 are absolute masterpieces. These sounds are out of this world and hard to believe they can be achieved on an iPad, let alone an iPhone. Best in class.
@kv331audio_bulent. One of the best synths on desktop in the palm of my hand. Stellar, beautiful and incredible sounding. You continue to amaze with the new skin and new sound packs. An iOS must have!
@AmpifyxNovation. Your apps really put the iPad on the map as a viable contender for music creation. These apps are beloved and referenced in many work flows. Free, functional and inspiring. Really a baseline to get started.
@elf_audio Koala Sampler was already a staple, and then you go and release Koala FX. Stunning! And for $3.99. These are essential no-brainers! FX competes with many of the best multi-fx apps today!
My last shout outs are to devs whom I'm uncertain if they are on the forum.
AudioDamage, a staple on desktop who brought amazing value to this platform. Most of your apps are on my devices and reached for frequently.
UVI, the BEST piano on the market in Ravenscroft, I always grab this one first. And beathawk is just outstanding. You can't go wrong with these.
Victor Porof, atom is essential for my AUM sessions. Without it, AUM would be useless to me! Highly anticipating v2!
And last but certainly not least, Fabfilter! The highest prestige and standard for mixing and mastering. We are blessed to have these tools first of all, and the price! Worth every penny. I would not know the value of these had they not come to iOS.
Thank you all so very much. You inspire me and have made this very fun journey possible for me. Something I've wanted to do for many years. If you weren't mentioned you aren't any less appreciated. These are just the devs of the apps I use the most.
Thanks @Lil_Stu07 ✌️✌️
Thank you!
Without the devs, I would’ve stopped making music. Was bored sitting behind a desk at the pc. You broke the chains and continue to inspire!
Love to all the devs. Can’t even begin to imagine how you make these marvellous apps. Do please remember that for every knob complaining that your newest release doesn’t run perfectly on an ancient iPad there are hundreds of others who think you are weavers of absolute magic. 💕
Devs are the heartbeat of all this, without them we would have no tools to use for iOS. Thank you to all the developers for making it possible.
I don’t know how the devs do it, but they do a great job. Especially @distraub who was really interacting closely with the beta crew on glitch core.
Christian Schoenebeck for Crudebyte ISymphonic, iCathedral Organ, Colossus pianos and others.
Amen.
@Lil_Stu07 All of those, and don’t forget yourself lol. You’re up there too.
There’s so many great ones, either because they are very responsive, understanding and helpful, or they created an amazing app, or both. They make this iOS music world spin.
Also one of The newcomers to music apps I’d like to mention is @azul3D_Apps for creating and constantly updating Piano Motifs. A really cool app.
Then there’s @TonalityApp who has been super responsive and is always updating the app with new requested features.
There’s a handful of great Mozaic coders that helped develop that app into the amazing beast that it is. @McD @wim @_ki @Krupa @Jocphone and others, I can’t remember off the top of my head. Thanks for developing all those scripts.
@Bryan has some great Mozaic stuff out there too. 👍🏼
Thanks 😊
@Alexandernaut gave me something to live for!
I think all devs deserve high praise for having an idea, taking the time, working hard, just so their dream masterpiece makes it on to the app store. Kudos to all of you. The ipad has flipped the music-creation world on its head - because of you clever devs.
To me, peeps who mindlessly shit on an app or dev, are often just ignoramuses, full of their own self-importance on a popular forum, oblivious to their own lack of foresight or perspective or the hurt they dish out without fear of consequence. Devs are people with feelings too, and deserve our praise and support, regardless of usefulness or success, for anything that makes it to the app store, IMO.
Wishslists and feature requests should always be expressed. Even negative opnions, if it's constructive and considered. Most of the commentary I see is generally good and full of intelligent debate or praise. But there are also too many ass-hats that think its their right to make sweeping, ridiculous claims, often without offering evidence or context, just because they feel entitled to do so.
I personally thank all the Devs for the fun and creativity you've given me with an iPad - even the devs of apps I'm not into. Thank you.
Well said!
