Thanks Dave. Big fan of Greyboy and Cory Wong is a beast. That new album is crazy good.
Good thing I have some dough on my iTunes account.
The Greyboys are a top 5 all-time band for me, and that's saying something. So much of my bass playing was learned from playing along to those records, it's because of them that I started digging into Grant Green, Sonny Stitt, Eddie Harris, Jimmy McGriff, Ramsey Lewis... the list is endless.
They are the perfect blend of dance/funk and jazz/musicality. Their melodies are super catchy and singable, yet they can still play with depth and complexity. I could talk all day about that band....
And yes - Cory Wong is a monster!
