Looping guitarist

I downloaded audio bus, jamup, garageband and loopy hd. Now what?:-)

Ibanez acoustic electric and prs electric to apogee jam to iphone5. The headphones sound better than the Bose mini powered speaker.

I want to create guitar loops. What is the best location to assign the apps? Unfortunately GB can only be in the output so I don't know how that will help. Is there a preference for placing jamup in either input or effect? Is there a recommended percussion / drum app that I can add to the input?

On the iPhone I open audiobus and assign jamup : input This opens jamup. I choose my guitar patch. There is a small audiobus icon off to the side but it isn't active so I have to close the window, reopen audiobus and then open loopy:output...and then repeat the process when I want to change to another patch for subsequent loops. What a pain. I know there's a better way but I don't know what it is.

I'm obviously out of my depth so thanks for any and all help.

Try opening audiobus first, then load jam up, then switch back to AB (if it doesn't do it automatically), then add loopy to the output. You should be able to switch jam up presets without issue.

The order you use the apps in the AB chain is really up to you and what you're trying to do.

  • The small AB icon is a navigation panel. You should see the other apps that are active in AB appear within. Tap any icon (including AB) and it should expand with various selections. The top-most one will take you to that app.
