Mastering by Igor Vasiliev no longer on AppStore!

I wanted to recommend this app to all of you mastering freaks but when looking for the AppStore link to attach here I could not find it anymore. Anyone knows what’s up?

Anyhow, while slightly peculiar in terms of UI it is an absolute beauty once mastered (no pun). I normally just run my mixes through logic but because I’m quite a lot on the move lately I’ve been using Mastering (previously Audio Mastering) and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I hope there is a benign explanation to its disappearance.

    I mentioned it before
about a month or so ago.

The dev has pulled all of his
    IAA apps from the store.

    I discovered this because I
    recently mastered a track using
    AudioMastering which got
    released on itunes.

I went looking for the app
link on the app store and I
    couldn’t find it.

It still works but it would be wonderful if it could be maintained as standalone.

    Altispace has gone as well.

  • I’m sure in the blurb for his new FX app he mentioned retiring the old apps. Perhaps a new updated AUV3 version will appear at some point.

  • Some years ago he also removed mSequencer

  • That’s an interesting decision. Unless there’s something I’m not aware of. Are devs expected to pay Apple to keep apps on the AppStore? As in kind of a rent? If so then it would make sense to ‘retire’ apps but if not I’m a bit confused by the decision.

I have the Final Touch app and I’m sure I can use that instead but I also like learning and getting used to my tools so I’ll try not to accidentally delete it from my iPad.

Ah damn it, I’m bummed I missed out on that one

It’s probably that it costs time and energy to support old apps through iOS updates...

FWIW, there are plenty of IR apps that do the job as well or better than Altispace...several are AUv3 even

    Yeah,

It's a combination of nostalgia as well the sound.
It was my first really good sounding reverb app on the iOS platform.

If he were to set free the IR's or preferably a paid for download?

    I would be very happy.

If you bought it, you can still download it by finding it in your purchased apps.

    I still have it.

I would like it to survive the iOS updates.

Saying that considering ThaKnar is auv3, having the IR's would be
precisely the same sound wise, your experiment proved that.

So until IAA support on the user end exists?
AltiSpace will continue to be a part of my sound.

  • @Gravitas : fwiw, you can capture any of the Altispace IRs you want to preserve.

    To do so:

    • create an impulse source by creating a mono audio file whose first sample has maximum amplitude followed by silence.
    • load that file into AUM as a file player
    • SEnd it to Altispace set to full wet signal
    • Capture the audio and normalize it and trim as needed.

You now have an IR you can use in THAFKNAR or any convolution reverb app that lets you load IRs.

I've got one of those someplace already.

    Awesome.

    Thank you.
