Only have factory expansion and iconic collection 1. Prefer factory expansion. Iconic 1 seems to generally be the sounds they’ve made on their YouTube videos if you’re familiar with them. Clue in the title I guess but I missed it!
I just got the Factory Expansion for $00.99 it’s about 96-97 presets. Barely got through 7 patches before I wanted to make a song, so that’s a good sign. Worth a dollar, gonna start using this more often.
Yeah, some decent/ interesting patches in there. It’s a slightly odd app in some ways, the expansion iap definitely made me visit it more 👍🏻

Noob question here, I usually just tweak presets and don’t do sound design from ground up. Have the DRC with the factory expansion, what is the synth engine for? Am I getting the most of presets without it and is it just necessary for making sounds? Or are the presets somehow compromised without it?
Same question about the Bismark BS-16i SF player. Do I need the hi res synth engine for that one? I make mostly hip hop and don’t have the type of ear that can pick out a really good sound from a great sound. I don’t need pristine, but I don’t want garbage either. Am I ok in both cases without the synth engine/hi res synth engine?

Ask the devs, they're super responsive and friendly. Pretty sure the presets are the same but you don't get to access all the params...If you're on the fence though, this is a company worth supporting and their plugins are top notch

The 'unlock synth engine' in-app purchase for DRC is basically the 'remove ads' function which when owned stops the pop-ups appearing on mobile. The sound of DRC remains constant throughout.

Yup there is a time limitation for using app if you do not unlock synth engine.
