What's New in Version 4.3
Preamp gain controls how much signal is sent to IAA track effects.
Effect Knob drag types (horizontal, vertical, or both). Option available in Settings App.
IAA Track effects now work on underlying regions of armed tracks as well as input monitor.
"Sound Copy" App Extension, converts audio to wav and copies to the general pasteboard from outside MultiTrack, including ogg files.
Tempo Controller redesign, separate spinner controls for Ruler type and Display type, 'Accent' button to accent the first beat of the bar.
Custom metronome sound (drop a short wav file into the Documents folder named 'metronome.wav'. Max duration for metronome sound is 0.1 seconds. Accent sound is created automatically by pitching up the sound.)
MultiTrack now rotates 5 backups of a project. If anything goes wrong, the latest backup is loaded.
Improved Input Selector box now groups core audio inputs, IAA effects, generators, instruments, and Audiobus sources.
Waveform previews are now built while recording, instead of after. No waiting for a lengthy preview build after long audio recordings.
Bins and Regions are named by track and take number, or audiobus source port names.
MultiTrack can now be launched into the background, when hosted from another app.
Now supports retina 3x displays on iPhone 6+, 6S+, and 7+ (5 tracks visible). iPad pro displays 11 tracks landscape and 15 tracks portrait.
Bluetooth A2DP and Airplay now works for iOS 10 devices (enabled in the Menu).
Non-Exclusive solo, now you can solo as many tracks as you want.
'IN' volume meter now displays up to 24 input channels on iPad and 3x iPhone
Select from the 3 different built-in microphones on newer devices.
Reworked IAA plugin system for better stability and compatibility with particular apps.
Updated for iOS 10. Audiobus 3 ready.
Fix: email bug when sending large files on certain versions of iOS 9.
Fix: memory leak when recording with screen locked.
Fix: If the song project doesn't match the hardware samplerate, converters are placed around IAA plugins.
Fix: To prevent Audiobus disconnections, input ports are now pulled even when track is disarmed or song is closed.
Thanks, @yug. There's just been a barrage of updates lately. I'm loving it.
Just saw this! Haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, but it seems to at least "acknowledge" some of the nagging issues that make this otherwise straightforward DAW a little annoying to use. Will check it out.
I think of you as one of the inhouse experts on this thing, would value your thoughts having given it a run...
Lots of great updates. congrats and thank you to Mr Dog.

(Other than using the Settings app) This seems like an unbelievably friendly/clever way to set knob drag direction.
Tonestack not showing for me as iaa effect
. It was broken as an iaa effect in mtdaw prior to this update, producing just a weird distorted phasey sound. Amplitube and bias also not showing for me as generators or effects with new update.
Big fan of mtdaw cos recording and basic editing is so quick and easy. Also has low cpu overhead compared with cubasis on air 2. I used to do all my recording in mtdaw then export to cubasis for mixing. As a tonestack fan though, Ive been doing recent recording straight to cubasis...would love to bring mtdaw back into my workflow if iaa can get sorted.
Woah.... I love this little DAW.
Still no way to have a count in though? At least one bar....Though I prefer more, it makes me feel better.
ToneStack is there look under Yonac. I did not have time to test it to see if it worked or not.
ToneStack works. AmpliTube, Bias Pedal, Flying Hagis, etc. all show up under FX as IAA.
@yowza & @InfoCheck thanks, my bad...saw tonestack listed with (what looks like the) magellan icon. Didn't realise it went to an iaa fx sub-group. Which is actually a pretty nifty way of keeping the iaa fx scroll list manageable.
But....tonestack still phasey, distorted and unusable for me (fine in cubasis ans audioshare tho).
I've never had this problem, and I just tried a bunch of combinations of sample rate, bit depth, and latency, but couldn't re-create anything like that. What type of interface are you using? Have you played around with the output level of Tonestack and the preamp setting in MTD? Nothing on the send bus?
Maybe check the Measurement Mode setting in the settings app. Whatever you have it set to, try changing it and see if that makes any difference..
Dude, thanks for suggestions. Tried changing buffer size, measurement mode in settings. No send bus fx in use. No change, still sounds blaaah. I dont think interface is an issue as tonestack is just being used as an iaa track insert (I use a yamaha ag06 interface for recording). This bug started for me with mt daw v4.2 and continues in latest update. Havent changed recording bit rate / depth (16/44.1) at any stage, and tonestack has continued to work fine in cubasis & audioshare throughout.
Here's a quick n dirty riff test to give you an idea of sound artefacts... 1. Dry from mtdaw. 2. Dry + tonesack insert in mtdaw 3. Dry + tonestack insert audioshare.
The 'live' tonestack insert in mtdaw sounds much harsher and trebly compared with the mixdown. The same tonestack preset was used in the audioshare insert recording. This is on air 2 ios 9.3.5. Its really odd, cant explain it.
Well, that is indeed very strange. I have nothing like that. I'm on the latest iOS, but other than using an iRig Pro, no difference.
measurement mode ONLY applies to the internal microphone - it removes the low cut and automatic gain control that are 'standard' to improve microphone impact in communication applications (the most frequent use on mobile devices).
In the recording sample there's something really wrong, but imho it's not a simple routing side effect like monitoring with different buffer sizes or similiar.
Sounds more like it captures 2 entirely different paths of which one isn't in sync at all.
I guess i could try reinstalling tonestack...dont wanna lose my presets though. The fact i can drop the same dry audio into cubasis /audioshare and tonestack works perfect...well, just means i dont use mt daw.
I considered the separate front/back microphone adressing a cool feature, until I found out that you can't use them simultaneously on 2 tracks.
WTF - this goes to Apple, not Harmonic Dog.
It would have been nice for singers plus guitar, because the back mic would point to the instrument if you tilt the iPad in the direction of a regular mic... though the unit is hard to operate in that position.
