Lovely piece! Made me sad though. Not sure what your intent was. Hey, I’m emotional. Probably just me.
Oh yeah...
@scadet, when I was a kid there was a NY regular tv program called Million Dollar Movie. This was great fifties and they played the same movie nine times in a week! Well, the theme song was the theme from Gone With The Wind. Talk about sad! It had a profound effect on me, I guess... watching The Dsy The EarthbStood Still nine times with that theme every ten minutes!
Nice, delicately played interesting voicings
We had the Million Dollar Movie in California too. We only had had about 12 channels total
counting the UHF channels and only 7 on the 2-13 dial. But we did have these shared cultural events like the Beatles on Ed Sullivan or the Moon Landing or the assassinations.
I remember falling asleep during the final episode of "The Prisoner" and didn't get to see it until years later in re-runs.
I picture you in front of your keyboard with a never ending cup of coffee cranking out the tunes. Good to see people on a creative roll.
@hypnopad ... limit one cup of java per day. I improvise four or five pieces in around thirty minutes. Then I leave the keyboard usually for a fat leather chair or the full recline.
Nice accords!👍🏽
More dreamy than sad for me.
I always enjoy your melodies Mike. Could definitely be a bit louder though. Even full volume is not that loud at all.
That was very very cool Mike, lovely arrangement and production, top job
👍
Very nice! Man I love Ravenscroft. It just sounds so authentic; especially when someone who actually knows how to play piano gets ahold of it.
@Satie, thanks. My favorite chord in this track is the Bernard Herman Hitchcock chord style 2:40. Surprised @McD didn’t pick that one out.
Thanks @Gavinski. Have you had a volume problem with any of the other tracks of mine you have listened to? I try to keep it consistent.
Good to hear from you @thesoundtestroom. Glad you liked it. Hope you are feeling okay these days.
Thank you @jolico. I appreciate your taking time to listen.
And thanks for the compliment @Intrepolicious. Yeah, Ravenscroft is the best we got. I’d love to hear a comparison with the desktop version if anyone has both. It’s a much bigger footprint and a lot of micing choices.
Not sure Mike, they're always a bit on the quiet side but I really noticed it this time. Still, better that than clipping and all dynamics destroyed! But is there something stopping you making them a little louder?
@Gavinski, I always place my iPad volume two clicks from maximum and get my output at around 75% within Cubasis. Early clipping experience has made me volume shy and, for my ears, on any output device, I am always fine and below the possible loudness. However, I will begin to set my iPad output another click down when mixing to give a louder result. Thanks for the advice.
