Render effects to track in Cubasis
New to Cubasis- I normally use AUM. I’m running an audio input into a track and have Drambo as an effect. Is there a way to render the raw audio with the effect to the track. Tried freeze but it didn’t capture the audio correctly . No way to route audio from one track to another that I can see. Am I missing something. Maybe a crazy threesome of running AUM and Cubasis in AB. I kinda hope it’s not that convoluted.

What happened when you tried to freeze?
With Drambo as an effect I can get pitch changes due to changes in loudness. When I froze the track it came out in one pitch- like it compressed the raw audio or something weird.
Cubasis has a few different freeze modes. One is realtime and it should at least in theory be on par with what you hear...
Audio & Midi routing in Cubasis is still a 'sore thumb' after all these years and we can only hope that it will some day get an overhaul. Still no support for AUv3's that provide multiple inputs & outputs, no way to send midi from a track to an AUv3 effect etc. etc. And no way to send midi to an AUv3 that is hosted on an audio-track (like microphone into a vocoder controlled by midi from another track).
Don't know what is scheduled for the next update but my gut says we'll have to wait until next year or so for more advanced audio & midi routing but I'd love to be proven wrong here...
@Samu Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it out.
Another path is to set up your signal chain (with Drambo in an FX slot) in AB3 or AUM and send the final audio out to Cubasis to be recorded as an audio track. You can keep repeating consuming more audio tracks with each effort and then use the power of Cubasis to mix or layer the various audio tracks. Tracks can be cut up and re-ordered as audio segments.
@McD How do I get AUM going into Cubasis? AB? I see IAA/AB output in AUM. This is new uncharted territory here.
Ok I think I figured it out. A trio of apps like I thought in the first post.
Yes. It does NEED AudioBus3 to open the Cubasis connection, I think. AUM can open an AudioBus3 channel on output. So, all three would be required to use AUM for the AUv3 assembly. AudioBus3 can do it all but AUM does tend to get most of my attention so I use AB3 for it's plumbing superpowers (Audio and MIDI). I just didn't like flipping over the the Mixer page in AB3 as an extra step. AUM's master mixing page just works best for me.
But, AB3 does have a great start/stop transport and the side-bar controls to get you into and out of any running app it's aware of so I could see how really learning it would be useful.
Thanks @McD
Learned something new today.
New occupation - iOS plumber.
@Michael has been plumbing IOS applications even before there was IAA or AUv3. And he
promises to keep plumbing even if Apple shuts down IAA in some future IOS version. He's the IOS Plumber, Emeritus.
