For me as an amateur just fiddling around, iOS as a music platform has me fully covered although I can totally understand a pro view of it not “being there” in different ways. Just yet (hopefully).
The mobility is for me a huge factor, being able to sit at my desk with monitors home alone and a regular keyboard, then when my family is asleep I can easily work on the same project with headphones just using my iPad on the couch. In seconds I can fire up pro- sounding synths, effects and get a beat going in my DAW of choice regardless surrounding.
