Aum midi feedback with audio interface

Hi. Maybe someone has worked their way through a similar situation. I have a Presonus Audiobox iTwo as the audio interface. I'm using a midi keyboard to control the iPad. That works great for internal iOS synths. When I try to send the midi out to a Roland System 1m it seems like there's a midi feedback loop and the synth is getting a continuous barrage of notes. I don't know why that's happening... Any insights? There's probably some type of filtering I can do with AUM. I've been trying that with no luck.

  • Filtering isn't the answer. You need to figure out why it's looping. The first place I'd check is the 1m itself. Is it perhaps putting midi thru back into the Presonus? See if you can configure it so it's not putting out any midi at all.

It's pretty hard to guess where the issue is without any kind of diagram or screenshot of the setup.

  • @wim Hey thank you for answering. You nailed it. The 1m was sending midi back into Ableton over USB. Sneaky. Thank you!

  • yay, that was mercifully quick! These things can be tough. B)
