    I have no idea.

I do think it may have latency but quite a few musicians I know have
been doing jam sessions using Zoom but I don't know if
they've been overdubbing rather than jamming real-time.

Dependent upon time zone as I'm in London but I'm up for trying.

  • The latency is highly variable and can be very high.

I suppose good for communicating and teaching with a group of people.

  • I think it would be pretty cool to have our video guys make presentations and then answer questions live afterwards. Would be fun to put faces with our forum members!

    I agree.

I personally was thinking to create a Zoom
meeting or a series of Zoom meetings myself.

Up to 100 people can hold a meeting on a free account for 40 mins.

    1 to 1 is unlimited.

  • That would be pretty awesome!

Would have to plan in advance since we are world-wide time wise.

Would have been great if they had had this in March when most of us were locked-down!

I'm on London time and my hours are between 10am-8pm

Yeah I agree, still it's there.

I'll put up some invites and see what happens.

  • Looking forward to it!

  • Don't think Zoom will work for jamming because of the latency but this looks promising https://www.musicradar.com/news/could-aloha-be-the-low-latency-app-that-finally-makes-virtual-band-rehearsals-a-reality Not sure how they plan to get around the latency issues that's baked into the internet but it does require dedicated hardware

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Until then...

    Zoom it is.

  • well im down for a zoom session whenever! talk ios and maybe share some sounds or whatever

  • Perhaps @flo26 would do a lil freestyle jam for us!

  • Jamkazam seems to be the go to for this. Not on mobiles though...

English language is the main barrier for me for this kind of meeting.
I can understand english (it depends where you are from😉),but my english speaking is really poor😉.
It would quickly become the running joke😂.
It’s a shame because it could be a very interesting thing to do.

  • Where do I find the option to use the updated codec? I am in a zoom meeting almost daily and would love to just jump into a meeting without having to unplug my audio interface, plug my headphones back into my iPad and use my iPad’s mic. I don’t have a zoom account. I just use the app to log into someone else’s meeting. Thank you in advance!

Also, zoom tutorials would be sweet!
