OT: HW controllers for the “left hand” Any recommendations? (Edit: any iOS apps also?)

edited August 2020 in Other

I’ve been loving the joystick (don’t laff!) on the Korg Microstation lately. So expressive. Pitch bend plus 2 modulations all in one. (Who needs to play with two hands anyway, lol.)

So, I’ve been checking out if there’s hardware controllers to add moar left-handed mayhem. Midi with DIN connection is nice, though increasingly rare. Something that does FX ala a Kaossilator, like gating might be cool. Any positive experiences?

Found a few so far... the Lab4music Enjoy controller:

The Sensel Morph
Very intriguing...

The Expressive E Touche:

  • Then there’s these wild controllers from synthesizers.com.

Had not seen a whammy bar for a synth before. Didn’t know I needed one until now, lol

  • Wham! bam! Thank you... err Synthesizers.com! 😄 There are MIDI / CV converters, of course. I wonder if that could be used with a regular MIDI keyboard?

In the OP, i said “left hand”, but with these separate devices, one could put them on either side. Which is nice.

Edited title to include iOS apps. Any favorites for using alongside a keyboard as a left hand controller? (Especially XY pitch bend and modulations?)
