Video..Using Moog Filtatron to add a nice twist to a drum loop

I used this effect ages ago on a track to just add a few fills to a monotonous drum loop, you'd be surprised how good it sounds when mixed in with other instruments

  • I love this app, I can spend hours just "playing" the filter =)

Yeah, I once spent a couple of hours tweaking Filtatron's delay knobs while sending some synth stabs through it.

Moog's apps are nice, but holy hell are they slow with the updates. I understand that they make a zillion dollars selling hardware and their apps bring in a tiny fraction of revenue by comparison, but Filtatron was essentially abandoned for 2 years. And Animoog for iPhone routinely sells for $9.99 yet hasn't seen an update in 1.5 years.

By comparison, Korg is quite timely.

I was quite enamored with Animoog when I first got it. Who wasn't? 99¢ for the best sounding iPad synth [at the time]? These days, however, I never really touch it. Maybe it's me, but Animoog patches all have a distinctly Animoogy sound, and it gets old eventually.

    Ah, well.

  • nice video, this prompted me to re-install Filtatron and run sector through it. i like the concept of this app, but I feel that its too subtle an effect.

I wish there was a way to tweak the output level of the effect. If you are listening to 100% wet signal its very quiet compared with the signal going in.

Thanks, Doug, I never have enough Filtatron.
