  • So a question.. when I’ve tried this app it pitch corrects very quickly-jumpy sort of way. I’m hoping for a more graceful subtle correction for my off-key notes. My singing style is more folk, acoustic pop than rap type or Cher autotunish.
Is this app designed for the more modern uses like rap-type, or does it allow for more gentle correction with the Amount and Speed controls? So far I haven’t found a good setting for gracefulness.

I would say it’s designed for modern uses. I haven’t tried a ‘graceful’ genre of music personally and I would guess that this isn’t that kinda app. And I haven’t even on the desktop version of Auto-Tune either. Those assignments were always more ‘melodyne-ish’ You can lessen the effect of the ‘Auto-Tune’ sound in AudioTune but can’t necessarily control the speed which probably defeats the purpose for your use. Hopefully in a future update we get that extra parameter, or another app specific to your needs.

Honestly, the auto-tune is simply not that good in this app. I do more modern styles of music and it's pretty bad as they require faster vocal runs and the app can't really transition smoothly. Auto-TuneMobile is much better and natural sounding with better parameter control.

It's a nice little tool for $3 though.

Have you been able to use Auto-Tune Mobile with an external mic/interface? If so, how?

  • How do people use this app then?

  • @sigma79 with xanax probably

I don’t know how others use it, but for us when we want the auto-tune sound, it gets us as close as we’ve been able to get on iOS with an external interface and mic

    Can’t hurt.

  • @ipadbeatmaking my point exactly

It's AUv3. I load it into Zenbeats or Garageband and attach my usb mic or my audio interface.

I also will record vocals in Gadget, export to audioshare, process the vocal file, import back into Gadget

  • So auto tune is the warbble effect?

  • I sound like someone who works for T-mobile. Think they are from the Phillipines and I love the way they talk. Thought it could make me into a better me though. Might get a refund.

  • But what is this ‘not after 8/31’ ? Will it be removed from app store? Why?

    “Limited Edition” I think

That’s very good news! I’ll revisit it. Anytime Ive tried to record on an interface it either won’t load up at all or sounds really weird. Are you listening to yourself live as you record thru the effect or adding it after?

I usually record first and tune to taste during processing. You could probably do either.

Ok, I remember one of my biggest issues was when I was tracking through it, I was getting issues. But applying it to a track after it was recorded was ok. I’ll try it out again.

Exactly. It’ll probably stay in the App Store is that users will be able to get updates etc, but cost $999

  • Still waiting for a melodyne a like :( would never need desktop ever again (for music)

  • Thank everybody! Confirmed my suspicions. I’ll keep practicing with my Sinatra & Mariah Carey records 😟

@danielfromcodalabs was interested in making a Melodyne styled app, and I thought we were finally going to get one. At the moment however, he said he's taking a break from making music apps. Hopefully this will change and he'll make it for us.

So tired of not having Melodyne on the iPad to be frank. Been asking for this for years. I'd pay at least $50 for such an app to be honest.

  • A melodyne style app would be nice but I imagine it would require too much time and effort to create, only to have to sell it for half of the desktop app's basic price.

If Celemony ported it over, however, I could see it being worth the exposure for the desktop app.

  • Never knew that!! The parameter controls look pretty cool. But man is this app (on iPhone) is hard for me to get with.

Just did an extremely rough test (built in phone mic rough) with it and I couldn’t hear it’s effect on the vocal with the phone speaker but I know it was much less audible than AudioTune Which came across with more of the Auto-Tune effect over the phone speaker/mic.

I’d like to really dig in with the FL studio one at some point because it might be really good for subtle correction for vocalists 🤞

Isn't it time yet to stop this limited edition nonsense ? :D

If you looking for Tpain kinda FX, then Voloco is the best I’ve found (though now subscription Based) , but you can try
    They even have custom presets
Their Bon Iver Presets are nice

For vocal correction , 4 pockets vocal soloist is good

auto tune mobile crashed too often for my liking, though decent
Auto for iOS does not track well enough for my liking

none of the above apps are in melodyne or Antares territory

  • Agreed, however it doesn’t retain control settings for switching presets from external midi in Audiobus.
